About Travis Pulver
Before joining the workforce, Travis Pulver took the “career student” path, earning degrees from Texas A&M University in Galveston, IUPUI, and Ball State. He also attended the United State Merchant Marine Academy, where he played football (Division III). After working as a superintendent for a stevedoring company on the West Coast and as a researcher for a state agency, he began freelance writing — which is where he has spent most of his professional life.
In the 15+ years he has been writing, Pulver has worked for numerous websites for companies in various industries, from self-storage to dating advice, self-help, e-commerce, and his first love: sports. He’s contributed to several start-ups, independent news outlets, and podcasts, including FanSided, BierMagazine.com, PlayerPress.com, ChaCha.com, COED.com, SportsRetriever.com, ClutchPoints.com, CelebrityNetWorth.com, Sportsnaut.com, CCN.com, and several pro athlete blogs.
As a native Texan, Pulver’s allegiance will always be to sports teams based in Texas. He is an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, and Houston Astros, despite their many faults. Now that his rugby-playing days are behind him, you will find Pulver watching his beloved Texas A&M Aggies every Saturday during football season. When the Aggies aren’t playing, he cheers for whoever is playing that “other” team in Texas (also known as the Texas Longhorns). But having lived in several states over the years, he has developed an appreciation for sports in general and just enjoys watching a good game.
Pulver currently lives in Noblesville, IN, with his wife, Nicole, and two children, Jackson and Addison.
