Wisconsin laying in wait for Buckeyes

At one time I loved the football season, but now it just gets to me; if it isn’t all the girlie men wearing pink in the NFL it’s the girls on the sidelines reading commentary and talking about things they don’t have a clue about.

And if that isn’t enough after a college game is over, keep the TV on and try and listen to them interview a player; now these guys graduated high school and now are in college but for some reason the only thing that they say that is audible is “you know,” do you know what I mean, you know, yeah you know.

I would love to go to a few classes with these football players just to see what is going on, I could be completely wrong and maybe I am, you know, and I know the pink is for a good cause but give me a break.

Let’s see if we can find some winners and get off the venting as I was feeling good last week and my college games went 8-3 and it could have been 9-2 but we got back-doored in the Air Force game, so here we go as we see if I can stay hot.

NCAA

Thursday, Oct.14th

South Florida +12 at West Virginia 4:45 p.m. ESPN TV: These weekdays games have been tough on me but we will be on WVU whose only loss was a 20-14 loss at LSU, they seek revenge here off last year’s 30-19 drubbing at Tampa. WEST VIRGINIA -12

Saturday, Oct. 16th

Illinois +7½ at Michigan State 9 a.m.: The Illini played the Buckeyes tooth and nail and then went into State College and just whipped “Jo Pa’s” butt Big shot here for Illinois to get the outright win as they catch the Spartans off huge win at Ann Arbor. ILLINOIS +7½

North Carolina State -7½ at East Carolina 9 a.m. CBSC TV: We will stay with the Pack as they rebound big time crushing BC last week and in this game they will outscore the defenseless Pirates. East Carolina has played all five of their games over the total and there will be a total on this game. N. C. ST AND OVER THE TOTAL

South Carolina -6 at Kentucky 9:30 a.m.: The Wildcats catch the Gamecocks in the perfect spot coming off the big win over previously undefeated Alabama, doubt they can have any emotion left here. KENTUCKY +6

North Carolina -6 at Virginia 3 p.m. (note time change): The Tar Heels defense is operating on all cylinders, they have won and covered three straight and this will make it four in what looks to be a low scoring game. NORTH CAROLINA -6

Boston College +21 at Florida State 9 a.m. (note time change): Normally I would stay away from this game as the Noles are coming off explosive win at Miami but they look to extract revenge from last year’s 28-22 loss at BC and the Eagle offense has no shot at staying with State. FLORIDA STATE -21

BYU +29½ at TCU 1 p.m. VER TV: Really don’t like laying all these points but the Horned Frog defense is working on back-to-back shut out wins and they beat a better BYU team last year in Provo 38-7, we will lay the wood. TCU -29½

UTAH -20 at Wyoming 3 p.m. MTN TV: The Utes are 5-0 SU and 5-0-1 ATS and have an explosive offense, the Cowboys have little or no offense. UTAH -20

Ohio State -6 at Wisconsin 4 p.m. ESPN: Get the wine out and sit back and watch what will be a nail bitter. This is one scary spot to bring your new #1 ranking into as Camp Randall Stadium will be rocking with Badgers. I am a die hard Buckeye fan but as the old saying goes , you can’t bet with your heart, this is the same spot the “Tide” was in last week. WISCONSIN +6 AND ON THE MONEY LINE.

My first dabble into the NFL last week was not a very good one but we need to start somewhere and the first game that attracts me is one team I lost with last week – the Chargers get to rebound over the Rams, the Saints get to rebound at Tampa. The one game that looks like a bet is the Browns getting 11 points at Pittsburgh as Big Ben comes back and he is over priced and will be over bet. The Colts escaped last week but will win again laying the small number at Washington you know.

Don’t forget to pencil in the BC seminar at Palace Station on Thursday Nov. 4th at 6 PM, free food and cocktail service, get there early as the joint will be rocking and you never do know what that crazy Zack Goldberg will giveaway, he told me in secret he may even have a hidden BC winner.
