Bally Technologies announced last
week that it has begun a nationwide rollout of four new video poker games
running on its heralded ALPHA operating system, and showcased in either the
CineVision or the upright M9000 cabinet.

“We are getting back into
the video poker game in a big way with a planned mix of classic favorites and
one-of-a-kind titles exclusive to Bally,” said Mickey Roemer, senior vice
president of products and marketing. “The advanced features of our ALPHA
operating system combined with the dramatic wide-screen technology of our
groundbreaking CineVision presentation are sure to be a hit with both operators
and players who are looking for new alternatives among video poker
suppliers.”

The four new video poker titles
that have been released for national distribution are: Ace on the Deal, Royal
Draw Poker, Double Draw Poker and Double Double Bonus Poker.

The multi-denomination Ace on the
Deal offers players a guaranteed ace with every dealt hand for the cost of an
extra credit. The game also offers a bonus on all the pays that have to do with
an ace on this sixth wagered coin. The game’s $500 payout occurs, on average,
10 times more often than a typical video poker game, giving players an increased
opportunity to win a bigger payout.

Royal Draw Poker is a
multi-denominational draw poker game with a 100 max-credit bet. The game’s
“Royal Draw Bonus” feature is triggered by drawing any four-of-a-kind
hand in the base game. The player chooses one of four suits (Clubs, Diamonds,
Hearts or Spades) and is then dealt five cards from that suit’s 13-card deck.
Players can then hold or discard up to five cards, offering a strong probability
of hitting either a straight flush or a royal flush.

Double Draw Poker also features
multi-denominational capabilities and a 100 max-credit bet. This game is
available in two variations: Double Draw Bonus Poker and Double Draw Double
Bonus Poker. Double Draw Poker offers both an internal and an external
progressive option. In addition, the Double Draw feature is triggered any time
the player is dealt exactly three-of-a-kind (including a full house) on the
initial deal. The player may then discard and draw up to five cards twice, for
two chances to get a winning four-of-a-kind combination.

Rounding out this initial trio of
new video poker titles from Bally is Double Double Bonus Poker. Like its sibling
games, Double Double Bonus Poker also features multi-denominational capabilities
and a 100 max-credit bet. Like Double Draw Poker, this game supports both
internal and external progressives. The game’s classic poker paytable
continues to be a hit with poker players from coast to coast.
