Belmont Race 8
Minor stakes sprint on the turf today in Elmont. If we’re right about this one, it will surely offset some poor football decisions today. No. 10 Chilly in Charge makes an appearance on the big stage, and the grass for the first time. He was a dud in a $500k race in West VA, but his sheet figure was respectable. As were previous races. And he won a polytrack sprint race at Woodbine. This cutback in distance makes him our intriguing pick. Trainer Bill Mott’s No. 4 Mucho, belongs in the mix. He just missed a second place finish in his last race at Saratoga. No. 2 Uncle Benny is racing for the 2nd time off an extended layoff. He stumbled badly in his last race. This horse has talent.
