One of the benefits of living in Las Vegas is you generally never have to worry about the weather affecting your plans, unless you consider being too hot a problem.
It was Saturday and I was feeling like some good BBQ and planning on firing up the grill. Unfortunately it ended up raining all day so grilling wasn’t the answer. But once I have it in my head what I want for dinner there is no changing my stomach’s mind.
So I had to find some BBQ and I saw a place not far from my house called TC’s Rib Crib located at 3655 S. Durango Drive. Their menu was extensive as they had a wide variety of meats along with a big selection of side dishes.
My wife Lori went with the Beef Brisket meal that came with two side dishes and corn bread. The brisket was good and for her side dishes she had Big Sam’s Baked Beans and Aunt Ada’s Potato Salad. Each of the side dishes was a Family Special Recipe. Lori liked both sides with the potato salad being her favorite.
For me I couldn’t decide what I wanted and so ordered the Meat Combo, creating my own little BBQ buffet. I went with the ¼ chicken, baby back ribs and beef ribs. I couldn’t go to TC’s Rib Crib and not try the ribs.
All three meats were excellent. My chicken was moist and the sauce was great. My baby back ribs were very good as well but my favorite was the beef ribs. These ribs were big and meaty and grilled just right.
The meat had a nice char to it yet was moist. I went with the baked beans as well and an order of fries. The portions were huge as I ended up having leftovers the next day for lunch.
We ordered the food to go and I really thought with it being such a miserable day weather wise they would be really backed up for takeout orders. But they said my order would be ready for pickup in 25 to 30 minutes.
I pulled into the parking lot and saw a packed restaurant. I said to myself, the food must be good here to be this busy, but the bad news is they will never have my food ready on time as busy as they are.
I actually arrived a few minutes before the time told me and to my surprise my order was already packed up, hot and ready to go. That impressed me as much as how good the BBQ really was.
They have several homemade desserts as well that I will have to try on another visit.
For good southern home cooked BBQ I recommend TC’s. In the future I’ll be ordering BBQ from there because it’s good. I give the TC’s Rib Crib a rating of 3.75 Forks.
