In the regular season, he’s 13-6 with a 3.77 ERA. He’s allowed far fewer hits at home but has given up three or more hits in 18 of his last 21 starts dating back to May 21. In a dozen of those, he’s given up five or more hits.
While better down the stretch beginning in August, the layoff will certainly impact the momentum he had. At the very least, we like the odds of him giving up at least three hits before being pulled especially at plus money.
Yordan Alvarez – Over 1.5 total bases

It’s go time for the Astros tonight – they’ve been held to 11 hits over the first two games of the series. They were shut out in the first game. But after giving up four runs in the first inning during Game 2, there was more urgency in the offense that almost helped them come back to win the game.
Yordan Alvarez will be a trendy pick here, and for good reason. He’s red-hot with nine hits and six homers during the postseason. He’s also 4-for-7 with a home run in 10 appearances against Scherzer.
Some sportsbooks offer Alvarez to get a hit at under -200, which is likely due to the pitching matchup. You could pair that with another player to hit in the game, but we like taking the 1.5 total bases over altogether with the slugger.
