Justin Verlander – Over 4.5 Strikeouts
Live:

Justin Verlander took the loss in his last start against the Rangers, but he was terrific on the mound. He gave up a homer, but he pushed through 6.2 innings. As usual, he tends to have a terrific strikeout-to-walk ratio, right now 11-5 over his two playoff games.

The last time Verlander didn’t hit five or more strikeouts was back on Sep. 1 against the Yankees. He’s only hit under that mark five times dating back to early June with the Mets, and it’s happened just three times since his return to Houston.

Texas is going to be more aggressive on at-bats as desperation will seep in. They need to have this game to avoid a situation where they have to win twice in Houston. That tends to favor a quality pitcher and the amount of strikeouts they can deliver.

Corbin Carroll – Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
(-130, BetMGM)

Since breaking out with two hits and a home run in the opener against the Dodgers, Carroll has been less productive in his at-bats. In the last five playoff games, he’s collected two total hits. He hasn’t even registered a walk in his last three games.

Arizona’s offense remains a bit stagnant, but order was restored in their pitching in Game 3. At some point, it’s going to click for Carroll and the offense. Today could be that day, and it may have to be with a weaker pitching matchup for both teams.

You could select Carroll for over 1.5 total bases (), but we’ll take it a little more conservative. A few sportsbooks, like BetMGM, offer a combination of hits, runs, and RBIs with minimal juice.
