While Houston won their opening game, bettors may want to keep an eye on their odds. The team’s leading scorer, Marcus Sasser, reinjured his groin in the first half and didn’t play in the second. Houston was never in danger of losing the game, but they were unable to put a No. 16 seed away.
Alabama, on the other hand, blasted Texas A&M Corpus Christi despite Brandon Miller not scoring a point.
Other notable performances include Kansas thumping Howard 96-68, Texas dominating Colgate (81-61), UCLA crushing UNC Asheville (86-53), and Duke taking care of business against Oral Roberts (74-51).
Betting Analysis
If you haven’t bet on Houston, do not bet on them now. Wait and see how Marcus Sasser progresses in the days ahead. However, Alabama’s odds are not going to be around +550 for long; expect them to get shorter soon. But if you want to roll with a long shot, give Duke some serious thought.
Should the Blue Devils take care of Tennessee in their Round of 32 game Saturday afternoon, Duke will go from being on the outskirts of the NCAAM Championship conversation to inside the top ten on betting boards.
