More major news for sports betting and broadcasting partnerships today as BetMGM announces a multi-year agreement with Audacy, formerly Entercom Communications Corp. BetMGM will become the preferred sports betting partner of Audacy under the agreement, which cover’s the company’s digital platforms, radio stations, the Audacy and Bet QL apps, and more.
“Audacy is a leader in sports radio, digital audio and now the direct-to-consumer betting analytics space,” said Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer. “In Audacy, we’ve found a long-term strategic partner that shares our goals, enabling us to further amplify BetMGM’s reach to sports fans through the most trusted audio personalities and sports betting data and analytics platform in their respective markets today.”
Partnership Details
BetMGM will bring sports betting content to Audacy’s wide audience. Fans nationwide tune into Audacy’s radio broadcasts, podcasts, and shows. BetMGM will also receive “preferred access to Audacy talent.”
There’s more to the deal, though, considering that Audacy recently acquired QL Gaming Group, giving the company a sports data and iGaming affiliate platform. Following the acquisition, Audacy launched the BetQl Audio Network. Both QL Gaming Group and BetQL are “fundamental components of this deal,” according to the announcement press release.
Mike Dee, President of Sports, Audacy, said, “The advent of legalized mobile sports betting has presented an unprecedented opportunity to bring the action closer to the audience than ever before and, as a result, provide our partners with a direct line of sight to tap into an attentive, fully engaged audience of potential sports bettors. We are proud to partner with BetMGM and wish to thank them for their confidence in us as we become one of their largest media partners. In light of our BetQL acquisition and related offerings, we believe this commitment is the latest validation that no other media company offers the wide variety of ways to connect with the sports betting audience the way that we do on a multi-platform basis.”
More Sports Betting Moves
BetMGM’s Audacy partnership comes on the same day major competitor DraftKings acquired VSiN in a similar deal. DraftKings opted for a full acquisition as opposed to BetMGM’s partnership structure, but the deals offer many similar components in the broadcasting space.
