If I stopped betting the NFL today I would be hitting at 100%, but not the case.

I was all set to bet the Hall of Fame game under 35 but when I saw the number at 37, I had to double up. I am nuts, but the final score was 17-10 Saints.

I love betting preseason football as there are some big moves to wager against. The reason is the books only take limited wagering on these games as teams don’t play their regulars the entire way. Plus, a lot of coaches are just looking at players and not wanting to get their top ones injured before the real season starts.

We have a full slate of games this week starting on Thursday and here are some of my best plays.

Thursday, Aug. 9

Saints at Patriots: New Orleans is back in just four days and that can’t be good. New England loves to win these early games. PATRIOTS

Steelers at Eagles: The men from Pittsburgh have gone UNDER five straight in preseason Week 1. Philadelphia is 1-6 ATS in the last seven Week 1 games. STEELERS/UNDER

Ravens at Falcons: Atlanta has gone OVER in six of the last seven Week 1 preseason games. I will stick with this trend. OVER.

Broncos at Bears: The game a lot of fans will be watching if they can find it on TV anywhere. The Bears have played OVER in Week 1 of preseason six of the last seven times. OVER.

Friday, Aug. 10

Bucs at Dolphins: Tampa Bay owns an excellent Week 1 preseason ATS record of 7-1-1 in their last eight. BUCCANEERS.

Jets at Bengals: The last five Week 1 preseason games that the Jets played have all gone OVER. New York looks to make it six straight. OVER.

Giants at Jaguars: Jacksonville has played OVER in Week 1 of preseason six of the last seven. OVER.

Cardinals at Chiefs: Arizona is back quick, but will have a good shot here as the Chiefs are a putrid 1-7 ATS in their last eight Week 1 preseason games. CARDINALS.

Sunday, Aug. 12

Rams at Colts: Indianapolis has been known for its lack of interest in preseason games and owns a 0-5 ATS record in the last five Week 1 starts. RAMS.

Preseason record: 1-0.

You go, girl?

At the Olympics, how is it possible that a young Chinese girl can win the gold in a faster time than the male swimmer won at the same distance and improve her best time by five seconds? My only answer would be the trainer (as Harry Reid said on the Senate floor).

The word out says Richard Dutrow snuck over there and took up her training. He has been known to improve horses a ton first off the claim. All in all our Olympians did a real great job and made us proud to be Americans!
