Betway NJ is the latest sportsbook to open operations in New Jersey, with a soft launch beginning tomorrow.

From August 9 through August 13, the sportsbook will operate limited hours. Sportsbooks in the state typically do soft launches so they can work out any technical glitches that may arise before going completely 24/7. Here are the dates and times slated for Betway’s soft launch:

  • Monday, August 16th: 2 pm ET to 10 pm ET
  • Tuesday, August 17th: 9 am ET to 5 pm ET
  • Wednesday, August 18th: 9 am ET to 1 am ET
  • Thursday, August 19th: 7 am ET to 11 pm ET
  • Friday, August 20th: 12 AM ET to TBD

With its launch in the Garden State, Betway now has three different locations. Indiana and Colorado went live earlier this year. Pennsylvania appears not far behind.

More Sports Betting Opportunities Still Under Consideration In NJ

New Jersey was the first state to allow for sports bets after the Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) barring the practice in 2018. But it still forbids bets on in-state colleges.

That could change this year.

A move is afoot in the state Legislature to allow for bets on in-state collegiate athletic events. The Senate passed legislation earlier this year 36-1 and it now goes before the Assembly for consideration.
