I love when I find little mom and pop type places around town and we are lucky to have so many here in Las Vegas. This week I found Biscuits 2 Burgers, a little breakfast and lunch place located at 9700 W. Tropicana Ave. They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
My wife and I went for breakfast with our goddaughter. Lori ordered a seasonal special of gingerbread pancakes, which were very good and a festive treat given the holiday season. I went with the daily breakfast special of two eggs, bacon and home fries.
My eggs came out just as I ordered them with my bacon extra crispy just the way I asked. It came with a huge portion of home fries. You really couldn’t beat the breakfast special for $3.97. The Gingerbread Pancakes were $5.95 for a stack of four.
Our waitress was so nice as she was talking to our 18-month goddaughter, and fussing over her. When she brought my wife her pancakes she brought Jordyn a little mini-Gingerbread pancake of her own to go along with her scrambled egg that we ordered her. It was such a small thing to do but it was something very nice. B2B made you feel at home and the owners really appreciate you coming in. It’s little things like that, that make me enjoy going to smaller places rather than large chains.
In addition to the gingerbread pancakes they have several other specialty pancakes. One of the more popular ones is their Banana Nut with roasted pecans. The sliced bananas are served with either bacon or sausage for $7.50. They also have a breakfast called Build Your Own Biscuit Slider. It’s served on the biscuit of the day with eggs, your choice of bacon or sausage and cheese.
I enjoyed my breakfast items so much I came back another day to try out one of their burgers for lunch. I mean the place is called Biscuits 2 Burgers so I have to try a burger, right?
I went with the All American Burger, which is your classic cheeseburger. The burger was very good and was cooked right to the temperature I requested. It was a thick fresh patty that was very tasty. The burger came with fries for $7.
Once again my waitress was very friendly and attentive, which really made me feel at home. They have six different specialty burgers ranging from $7-$7.95. For the size and quality of the burger the price is a steal.
If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by Biscuits 2 Burgers for a good home-cooked meal at very reasonable prices and a friendly attentive staff. I give it a rating of 3.75 Forks.
