Congratulations to Casey Degnon, Senior Risk Supervisor at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, for winning the first quarter mini-contest of Bookies Battle 2022. Casey has $500 coming his way and earned a berth into the playoff portion of the contest that offers a $2,000 top prize.
While Degnon and Casey Lewless from Margaritaville Bossier City each tallied a 48-29 record through the first five weeks of the NFL season, Degnon claims the quarter by virtue of the tiebreaker. Both contestants had Raiders +7 on Monday night, but Degnon predicted 52 total points would be scored, and Lewless called 48 points. The Chiefs’ 30-29 win got Degnon there.
Jason Scott, VP Trading at BetMGM, was in the mix heading into last night as well, but needed the Chiefs to cover as 7-point favorites to catch the Caseys.
The second quarter mini-contest runs from Weeks 6-9, the third quarter from Weeks 10-13, and the fourth Weeks 14-18.

Second Straight Winning Week for Consensus Picks
After a rough start to the season – three straight losing weeks, including just five winners in Weeks 2 and 3 – Bookies Battle consensus picks went 8-7-1 in Week 5, their second week in a row above .500 (although not quite as impressive as the 13-2-1 mark in Week 4!)
Seahawks +6 (at Saints), the top consensus play with 75% of the field taking the points, was a loser, thanks to a 60-yard touchdown run with less than two minutes remaining by Taysom Hill, the tight end’s fourth score of the game (three rushing, one passing).
