DEL MAR

Race 1

THE $200K GRADE II GOLDIKOVA AT A MILE ON THE GRASS

No. 1 On Leave is in from back East and gets Irad on and we like that she has a work here. No. 8 Goldy Espony is the speed and owns the right name to win this. No. 9 Majestic Heat is a 3 time winner of this course and gets the hot riding Prat who was on for her win one race back. 1-8-9

Race 2

THE $200K GOLDEN STATE JUVENILE AT 7 FURLONGS

No. 1 Smokem has finished first once and second three times in his four starts and three were here at Del Mar. No. 6 Bookies Luck comes off a huge win last out in the I’m Smokin when he beat Smokem.

1-6

Race 3

THE $200K QATAR JUVENILE TURF SPRINT AT FIVE FURLONGS

No. 3 Count Alexander gets a turn back in distance and will be surging late, No. 9 Declarationofpeace is in from Ireland for O’Brien and No. 10 March X Press is in from Woodbine via Saratoga for Pletcher and one of the best turf jockeys in the land Javier Castellano gets up today. No. 1 Fairyland is the speed on the rail with Irad Ortiz riding for Ward. 1-3-9-10

Race 4

THE $2 MILLION BC JUVENILE FILLIE AT 1-1/16

We will use three runners exiting the same race No. 7 Moonshine Memories who is a perfect 2 for 2 here. No. 8 Piedi Bianchi 15/1 finished 3rd and No. 9 Alluring Star the speed who was second. 7**-8-9

Race 5

THE $1 MILLION BC TURF SPRINT AT FIVE FURLONGS

Don’t blink or you could miss this race. No. 3 Lady Aurelia has won 5 of 7 starts and is well traveled she will be hard to beat. No. 5 Washington DC 20/1 is back again for O’Brien, he ran up the track at Santa Anita when going down the hill last year in the BC turf sprint, we will use him at this price. No. 6 Marsha is in from France and GB, she will meet the boys but no big deal here as this filly has some big time class to her and loves this distance. No. 10 Hogy 10/1 will be flying late and could set off a nice trifecta.

3-5-6-10 trifecta box

Race 6

THE $1 MILLION FILLY AND MARE SPRINT AT SEVEN FURLONGS

In the ten years they have run this race no girl has gone wire-to-wire. No. 11 Unique Bella wins this from just off the pace with Mike Smith but will be a short price. We could take a shot with No. 12 Skye Diamonds who is a perfect 2 for 2 here at Del Mar after that No. 1 Carina Mia, No. 4 Finest City and No. 8 Constellation are must use runners. 11-12/1-4-8

Race 7

THE $2 MILLION FILLY AND MARE TURF AT 1-1/8

Chad Brown has won this race three times after that this has been a euro owned race. No. 5 Wuheida 20/1 is a must use as she is always there late and we love jockey Buick riding. No. 9 Lady Eli lost this race by a nostril last year, she has ripped off three straight graded wins and Brown looks to have her set for another. No. 14 Rhododendron is in from France for O’Brien and will be part of the trifecta. Others to consider in superfectas are No. 6 Cambodia who loves this course, No. 7 Dacita and No. 8 Grand Jete stablemates of the Lady Eli. 9** 5-14/ 6-7-8

Race 8

THE $1.5 MILLION BC SPRINT AT SIX FURLONGS

There have been some huge trifectas in the sprint as bombers usually show up late for a piece and the average winning price has been around $20 bucks. No. 2 Drefong will be on a lot of tickets as a single but he catches other speed, he won this race last year and Mike Smith will ride this time for Baffert. No. 7 Takaful has a big time last work and will sit chilly with Jose on board. No. 8 Roy H is the now horse and will be in the trifecta or even the winners circle. No. 9 Ransom the Moon won the Grade I Bing Crosby on this course when beating Roy H who came back and won next out. 2-7-8-9

Race 9

THE $2 MILLION BC MILE TURF

The two key players in here are No. 10 Ribchester how is one very classy 4yo colt from over the pond and No. 12 Roly Poly for O’Brien another classy filly meeting the boys, Mr. O’Brien must really love this girl. No. 5 World Approval will get that with a win here, he has won his last two starts both Grade I races and has a big last work, his only problem is he is speed and deep closers win this race. No. 8 Suedois shipped from Ireland and won a Grade I at Keeneland on October 7th. 10**-12/ 5-8

Race 10

THE $2 MILLION BC JUVENILE AT 1-1/16

The chalk has lost this race four straight years and 5 of the last 6 years so stay away from the post time favorite on top. No. 1 Navy Flag has run ten times in his 2yo career but all have been on the grass sprinting so why does O’Brien have him here? No. 2 Solomini is a real up and coming colt, he has just two starts and looks like he is sitting on a monster race at 6/1 on the morning line with Prat riding, he will try and turn the tables on the favorite No. 11 Bolt d’Oro who is 9/5 on the morning line. No. 3 Firenze Fire made a big late wide run to win the Grade I Champagne at Belmont, his first going long. 2***-11-1

Race 11

THE $4 MILLION BC TURF AT 1-1/2

O’Brien has owned this race winning it six times and two straight years. He sends out No. 3 Highland Reel last year’s winner but he will need to be at the top of his game to beat No. 5 Ulysses, but he has beat him last year in this race, we think Highland Reel could be better this time around. Chad Brown gives the US its best shot as he sends out No. 12 Beach Patrol off his big Grade I win last out, he also sends out No. 10 Fanciful Angel. No. 4 Decorated Knight 15/1 is the price play. 3-5/ 12-4

Race 12

THE $6 MILLION DOLLAR BC CLASIC AT 1-1/4

On the surface this race is all about No. 1 Arrogate and No. 5 Gun Runner the two favorites, is it this easy? The one question is why does O’Brien send out No. 7 Churchill 15/1 a 7 time winner on the grass, he has never been on the dirt and the great Ryan Moore will ride. No. 6 West Coast says wait a minute what about me, he has six wins and two second from eight starts and that last win in the Penn Derby was a big wow job, with Mike Smith on Arrogate Castellano will ride and that last work says he will be part of the trifecta. If this pace gets crazy No. 6 Mubtaahij could come late for a piece. Arrogate will be first or second but is Del Mar his Kriptonite? 5-7 with 5-7 with all in the trifecta.

HAVE FUN!
