The answers will come this Thursday at the Palace Station race book when the guys from the popular radio show “Bad Beat,” Vic Vivio and, as always, the comedy of myself will get together and hash out the winner for this year’s Breeders’ Cup.
As a big bonus Station Casinos will be offering a 20k twin Q on Breeders’ Cup Saturday. So get to the race book at 6 p.m. and get the answers. Find out if Bob Baffert will score with one of his many horses or if the Euros will dominate.
See if the all knowing Ralph Siraco, who as he says, just hates filthy chalk, can find a horse that can stop Goldikova from winning an unprecedented fourth straight BC turf mile. Plus, you can bet your last dollar I will have some live long shots.
Vivio, the supervisor at the Palace Station race book, always puts together a string of winners. Also, we will be giving out the late pick four.
If you were at our latest seminar at Jerry’s Nugget, we gave out the late pick four at Saratoga and the early pick five at Hollywood Park for some serious money. So be there this Thursday. It’s free, as are the food and cocktail service thanks to the big guy Josh Pool who runs the show as director of the race and sports book.
War in Tuscaloosa
We not only have the Breeders’ Cup this week but we have the big game, Alabama -4½ at home against LSU. This will be a war with two great defenses facing off in Tuscaloosa.
Syl Friedman, our good friend from Metairie (La.), has assured us here at GT that the Tigers will get the money at +4½. Syl says the Tigers have the faster team and will be all over the field.
The only thing that could stop them from getting the win is the 12th man. That said let’s take a look at the rest of my selections. I even had a winner in the NFL this past week.
SATURDAY
Indiana at Ohio St. -27½: The new Buckeyes QB will overwhelm the Hoosiers. OHIO ST.
Texas Tech at Texas -10: The Longhorns can ill afford to lose another game and will come out smoking again. TEXAS.
Texas A&M at Oklahoma -13½: The Sooners are off a huge win at Kansas State and now will crush the Aggies, who have come back to earth. Oklahoma will go into Stillwater on Dec. 3 and face most likely undefeated Oklahoma State, but must stay with just one loss. OKLAHOMA.
Stanford -21 at Oregon St.: The Cardinal escaped last Saturday in three OT’s. A win here and next week over Oregon could be looking at the BCS championship game. The dogs will not be called off. STANFORD.
Kansas St. at Oklahoma St. -21: The Cowboys have one awesome offense and will look to duplicate the Sooners win last week over K-State. OKLAHOMA ST.
NFL SUNDAY
Saints -7½ will be in an angry mood after losing as a -14 favorite.
Bengals +3½ have a defense that is the real deal. This will be a field goal game.
Ravens +3½ look to make it two straight over the Steelers but that half point is for me. This will be decided by a field goal.
MONDAY
Eagles -6½. If Philly can play the rest of their games like the one Vick played last week they could win out.
