The Steelers were listed as a 1-point choice over the Browns on look-ahead lines, but the Week 17 MNF game re-opened Cleveland -2.5 before a quick move to -3. While the spread continued to move in the visitor’s direction, to Browns -3.5 on most oddsboards late in the week, it jumped the fence after Cleveland was eliminated from the playoffs Sunday. The day of the game, the Steelers are 2.5- to 3-point favorites around the betting market.

The temperature should be in the low 30s at kickoff.

Cleveland Browns (7-8, 7-8 ATS) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7-1, 6-9 ATS)

BetMGM line: Browns -3 (-115), 41

The skinny: The AFC North rivals meet in what likely will be Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger’s final home game of his career.

Facts: The Steelers had won 17 straight home games against Cleveland until getting waxed 48-37 in the wild-card round last season.

In what has turned into a trend, Pittsburgh fell behind 28-0 in the first quarter before mounting a futile comeback behind Big Ben’s 501 passing yards. Last week, for instance, the Steelers fell behind K.C. 30-0 before showing life in a 36-10 defeat. Two weeks earlier, Pittsburgh was down 29-0 at Minnesota before eventually falling 36-28.

Cleveland’s Baker Mayfield had four INTs in the Browns’ Christmas Day 24-22 loss in Green Bay, but they still rewarded their backers with an ATS victory. The only other time this year a team beat the line when its QB threw four interceptions was when the Baltimore and Lamar Jackson defeated Cleveland 16-10 in Week 12, cashing as 3-point favorites.

Browns vs. Steelers Betting Analysis And Pick

The Browns are out of the playoff picture, while the Steelers maintain slim postseason hopes.

The Browns, though, rate an edge in the running game, especially with RB Nick Chubb, who gouged the Packers for 126 yard in leading a 219-yard ground game. Plus, in between Mayfield throwing all those interceptions, the Browns had 28 first downs. Amazing.

They’ll be going against a Pittsburgh defense that has had trouble getting off the field, allowing Baltimore and Tennessee scoring drives exceeding 10 minutes the past two weeks.

Prediction: Browns 27, Steelers 19 (editor’s note: This pick was made last week, when Cleveland was still in playoff contention).

Last week: 11-5 ATS, 12-4 SU
Season total: 117-120-3 (.494) ATS, 148-91-1 (.619) SU
