What to Know if You’re betting Buc vs. Saints on Caesars App

This NFC South rivalry pits two 1-0 teams against each other.

The Tom Brady-led Buccaneers enter Sunday’s contest fresh off a 19-3 win over the Cowboys in Week One. Running back Leonard Fournette dispelled any rumors about a weight gain this offseason, rushing for 127 yards on 21 carries (six yards per attempt). Tampa Bay’s defense looked sharp as well, holding Dallas to just 12 first downs and 71 rushing yards. The Buccaneers notched four sacks in the win, too.

Meanwhile, the Saints escaped Week 1 with a win over the Falcons. New Orleans trailed by 16 points early in the fourth quarter before executing a 17-point turnaround. Quarterback Jameis Winston threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes – both to wideout Michael Thomas – before kicker Wil Lutz drilled a 51-yard field goal to take the lead with 23 seconds left in regulation. Winston completed 23 of his 34 attempts for 269 yards and a pair of scores. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry made the most of his New Orleans debut, catching seven of his nine targets for 114 yards, including a 40-yard reception to set the Saints up late.

The Buccaneers are 2.5-point favorites, according to Caesars. They’re -140 to win straight up (moneyline), and the total for Sunday’s game is set at 44.5 points.

Tampa Bay covered last week, while New Orleans did not. Last season, the Buccaneers were 9-8-0 against the spread overall and 3-6 ATS in road games. Tampa Bay has won its last five road contests straight up; however, the same can’t be said for this rivalry game. New Orleans has won seven of the last eight regular season games against Tampa Bay.
