This week I’m doing something a little different as I went to a coffee shop. Now don’t worry, they serve food too and I will talk about it, but I really have to start with the coffee.

I went to Leone Café at 400 South Rampart Boulevard. It is located at Tivoli Village and has a great corner spot. I bring this up because they have dining inside and out. The patio is huge because it’s a corner spot and if you have already been to Tivoli you know the architecture is amazing. The buildings were designed to give the feel of an Italian village, so you know that makes this Italian very happy.

Leone Café has an extensive coffee menu of both hot and cold drinks. On this visit I went with the Iced Nutella Cappuccino. Let me go on record as saying this was the best cappuccino I have had here in town.

The café may be known best for their coffee bar, but they also offer a full menu of breakfast items, sandwiches and salads. The breakfast menu has several options from omelets to waffles and crepes.

They have a Leone Breakfast Croissant with eggs, turkey bacon, mixed cheese, tomato, and avocado on a buttery croissant. That’s the perfect breakfast sandwich. But on this visit, I was pretty hungry, so I went with the Steak n Eggs. You get a New York Strip with two eggs cooked to order on top of the steak along with grilled asparagus, all on a bed of toast. You have a choice of fresh fruit or hash browns. This was a filling breakfast and was good.

Where I was sitting was a high traffic area for where the food was coming out from the kitchen, so I got to see a lot of items go by. On my next visit for breakfast I will have to try the Banana Nutella Crepes as they looked amazing.

They offer six different omelets in addition to a build your own option. For $10.50 you are able to custom build your omelet with up to four items. The omelet comes with a side of fresh fruit or a salad. They also make Belgian Waffles served with maple syrup or fruit topping.

If you come by for lunch they have several salads and panini’s to choose from. The Chicken Caprese and Pastrami Melt looked very good.

If you want to have dinner Leone Café offers several pasta dishes as well. There is also an entire case of fresh desserts and pastries to choose from. There is nothing better than a good cup of coffee and a nice dessert.

If you are lucky enough to take your work with you this is a great place for your laptop or iPad, grabbing a coffee and sitting out on the patio to do some work away from the office. They have Free Wi-Fi and I’m actually writing this article enjoying an Iced Nutella Cappuccino.

Leone Café is a great place to meet friends for a cup of coffee and just hang out or grab a bite to eat. I give it 3.75 Forks out of 4.
