The Miami Heat took the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals over the Boston Celtics and are looking to complete a shocking sweep at home. This will surely be an exciting game with the Celtics’ back against the wall, which should make for some competitive basketball. If you want to get in on the action, we have got you covered as we will break down the Celtics vs. Heat Game 3 predictions, odds, and props.

Even though this game is in Miami and they are up 2-0, oddsmakers still give a slight edge to Boston, as DraftKings Sportsbook has the Celtics listed as three-point road favorites. However, Miami is now favored to win the series (-170).

Celtics vs. Heat Series Price

The Boston Celtics opened as -550 favorites at FanDuel to win the Eastern Conference for the second-straight season. After a Game 1 loss, Boston was still favored on the series price, but the number was cut directly in half. Following a stunning Game 2 loss, Boston is now an underdog in the ECF, with BetMGM offering a +150 price on the Celtics.

With this series turning to Miami for the next two, the Heat are now heavy favorites to win. If you are looking to place a Celtics vs. Heat series price bet, make sure you are comfortable with the current number, as they will change pretty drastically after every game, especially if Miami wins Game 3.

Here are the updated Celtics vs. Heat odds of winning the series prior to Game 3.

Celtics vs. Heat Betting Trends & Notes

If the Boston Celtics are reading this, my one request would be not to say a word to Jimmy Butler. Don’t even acknowledge his existence. And most especially, do not say anything that would potentially upset him.

For the sixth time in these playoffs, Miami overcame a double-digit deficit to win, and they did so on the back of Butler. After Grant Williams hit a three with just over six minutes left to push Boston’s late lead up to nine, he had some words for Butler, seemingly costing the Celtics the game.

Butler went on to score nine points in varying levels of difficulty over Williams, and Miami closed the game on a 24-9 run to stun the Boston faithful. However, Miami also got some solid contributions from Bam Adebayo, Caleb Martin, and Duncan Robinson, all of which put up high-scoring numbers and made critical plays down the stretch.

Boston now has to win at least one game in Miami, where the Heat are undefeated this postseason. Although Boston is one of the best road teams in the NBA this season, Miami is 33-15 SU at home and has won six straight.

Boston Celtics Betting Trends

  • Boston is 2-4 ATS in its last six games
  • The total has gone OVER in 10 of Boston’s last 13 games
  • Boston is 1-4 ATS in its last five games against Miami
  • The total has gone OVER in 10 of Boston’s last 12 road games

Miami Heat Betting Trends

  • Miami is 9-2 ATS in its last 11 games
  • The total has gone OVER in four of Miami’s last five games
  • The total has gone OVER in four of Miami’s last five games against Boston
  • Miami is 1-4 ATS in its last five games against Boston at home

Celtics vs. Heat Game 3 Prop Bets

Robert Williams Over 14.5 Points + Rebounds (-128, FanDuel)

It has been a rough postseason for the Time Lord, but he put up another double-digit scoring performance in this series. Although he did not crash the glass in Game 2 as effectively as he normally does, Williams has exceeded this number in both games this series, and for the playoffs, he is averaging 6.5 rebounds per game in just 22.2 minutes played per night.

He is also making 81.5% of his shots, and although he is only attempting four shots a game, he is scoring on almost every attempt, and he is a good enough rebounder that he can easily go over this number at any moment. Williams has only hit the number for the playoffs when he has recorded double-digit scoring nights, but with how well he has looked in this series, he should be in for another big night.

While Miami is one of the best paint-defending teams in the NBA, Boston is equally as good at getting the ball inside. With guys like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown struggling to make any impact late, Williams could get a lot of opportunities, especially if Boston’s star players continue to be no-shows.

Celtics vs. Heat Game 3 Predictions

At this point, it would not surprise me if Miami went on to sweep Boston. The Celtics have been just skating by in the postseason, and they finally met a team that can play a lick of defense and also scores at an effective rate.

While Boston was winning Game 2 for most of the game and was on the verge of making things ugly, this team fell apart in the second half, and it all started with Tatum. Although he put up another 30-point scoring night in the playoffs, he did not record a single field goal in the fourth quarter, and for the series, he is 0-3 shooting in the fourth. That will not cut it from one of the best players in the world, especially when Brown and Marcus Smart are not offering much help, either.

Even though Boston feels like it’s out of juice, they are favored in Game 3. This is mainly because point spreads are determined by roster talent, in which Boston has one of the most talented in the league. However, you cannot project the Celtics to forget how to play basketball in the final minutes.

This should be another close game, and with the way the refs have been blowing the whistle this series, this game should go over the total, and that is what we are riding with for Celtics vs. Heat Game 3.
