The Boston Celtics have won two straight over the Miami Heat and now trail in the Eastern Conference Finals, 3-2. This series turns back to Miami, and with the Celtics coming alive, this should be an exciting game. We are here to break down Celtics vs. Heat Game 6 predictions, odds, and props, and give an update on the series price.

With a Game 5 victory, Boston is one step closer to making history. But first, they must win in Miami for Game 6. According to our friends at DraftKings Sportsbook, the Heat are three-point home underdogs in Game 6, but the series price still has Miami favored to win (-135). However, the Celtics were +700 to win the series prior to Game 4, and now they are getting a +115 price to move on to the NBA Finals.

Boston has completely flipped the script in this series after going down 3-0. While they have made it halfway to the best comeback in NBA history, there is still a long way to go, and it continues in Miami. Still, the oddsmakers respect Boston and think this one will be pushed to a Game 7.

Celtics vs. Heat Betting Trends & Notes

The Celtics blitzed the Heat early in Game 5, and Miami could never recover. They never led in this game, and every time Miami would go on a little run, Boston would counter with one of their own.

Miami was not terrible at shooting the ball in Game 5, but 16 turnovers and only 20 assists doomed this team, especially since Boston could not miss from deep. As a team, the Celtics shot 16-of-39 from beyond the arc, and Derrick White hit six of those threes, including half of them in the first quarter.

It also helped that Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown all had great nights on both ends of the court, especially on offense. Brown and Smart combined for seven three-pointers, while Tatum put up 21 points on 50% shooting from the field and added 11 assists.

On the other side, Miami shot 39.1% from three in Game 5, but no one was consistently hitting shots, and they went through spurts of not putting the ball in the hoop or even getting shots up. Boston’s defense looked like it did in the regular season, and the offense was hot enough from deep that nothing else mattered.

The momentum has shifted in Boston’s favor. Still, the Heat are 7-2 at home in the postseason (including the play-in round), and Boston has struggled in Miami, winning only two of its last seven games at the Kaseya Center.

Boston Celtics Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 11 of Boston’s last 16 games
  • Boston is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games against Miami
  • The total has gone OVER in 11 of Boston’s last 14 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in five of Boston’s last six games in Miami

Miami Heat Betting Trends

  • Miami is 10-4 ATS in its last 14 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 11 of Miami’s last 16 games
  • Miami is 7-1 SU in its last eight home games
  • Miami is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games when playing as the underdog

Celtics vs. Heat Game 6 Prop Bets

Jimmy Butler Over 5.5 Assists (-155, DraftKings)

It has been a rough two-game stretch for Jimmy Butler. He put up 29 points in Game 4, but 10 came at the free-throw line, and he shot only 9-of-21. In Game 5, Butler was even worse, with 14 points on 10 shots.

Still, Butler has a high usage rate, and over the last two games, he is averaging five assists per game. He did not play much in the fourth quarter in Games 4 and 5, meaning if this one is tight, like it should be given the circumstances, Butler will have more opportunity. We only need Butler to get one more assist than he has averaged over the last two games and playing more minutes obviously would help our cause.

In the playoffs this year, Butler is averaging 5.5 assists per game, and he has gone over this number six times, including three times this series. With his shooting struggles over the last three games and the fact that Miami desperately needs to win this game, expect Butler to get his teammates involved, as the Heat are much tougher to beat when everyone touches the ball.

Celtics vs. Heat Game 6 Predictions

This game is obviously a must-win for the Celtics, but it also has that same feeling for the Heat. Of course, if Miami loses, there is still a Game 7 to be played, but the Celtics have all the momentum, they are pound-for-pound the better team, and Game 7 would be in Boston.

All the talk after Boston has won the last two games has been on Miami blowing a 3-0 series lead. While teams are 0-149 after going down 3-0 in a series, it has never happened in which an eight seed has gone up 3-0 on the two seed.

This is the most likely chance for a team to come back from down 3-0, but there is a reason teams are 0-149 in these instances. Winning four games in a row over any team is extremely hard, not factoring in that Boston has absolutely no margin for error.

However, Miami better win this game because they are officially in panic mode if they do not.

Boston is playing as a slight favorite, but we will focus on the total. Boston’s offense has come alive in the last two games, and they have also picked up the intensity on the defensive end of the court. As a result, the Heat have not shot the ball as well, but with this game in Miami, we can expect that the home team will come in with a little juice for Game 6.

If Boston continues to shoot the three-ball well, as they have in the last two games, Miami should score just enough to push this one over the total.
