What makes Saturdays that much sweeter? College football longshots that have a decent chance to pull off money-line upsets or at least cover the spread.

We’re targeting two dogs and a favorite in Week 9. Let’s get to the games.

South Florida (+17.5 consensus) at Houston

The USF Bulls can be found at the bottom of the American Athletic Conference standings with a 1-6 overall record (2-5 ATS). But they have played their best as colossal underdogs this season.

On Sept. 17, they were edged on the road by then-No. 18 Florida 31-28 as a 23.5-point underdog. Three weeks later at Cincinnati, USF threw a scare into the then-No. 24 Bearcats before losing 28-24 as a 27-point dog.

Then, in their most recent outing, before last week’s bye, the Bulls tangled with Tulane, currently No. 23. USF lost 45-31 as a 12-point dog.

Now they are getting even more points on the oddsboard and face a Houston team that’s only 4-3 (3-4 ATS) and ranks 109th in points allowed with 31.7.

USC at Arizona Betting Line: Point Spread, Total, Moneyline, Pick

This Pac-12 game will be contested in Tucson with both teams coming off byes.

USC at Arizona (+15.5 at FanDuel)

The host Wildcats (3-4 SU/3-4 ATS) are having a relatively disappointing season but are upbeat for the future after second-year coach Jedd Fisch had one of the best recruiting classes in school history.

USC (6-1 SU/5-2 ATS) was having a great season and ranked No. 7 in the country before blowing a 14-point lead and falling in the last minute at Utah, 43-42, two weeks ago. The Trojans now stand 10th in the AP poll after moving up two spots during their bye week.

They still could be somewhat deflated after their perfect season was KO’d and the national spotlight aimed in another direction.

Arizona, meanwhile, has one of the most productive quarterbacks in the nation in Jayden de Laura, who is tied for eighth with 19 TD passes. He’ll be going against a Trojans defense that could be missing its top tackler in LB Eric Gentry (ankle). Another USC star that could sit out or at least not be at full speed is leading receiver Jordan Addison (leg).

The high-octane Arizona offense should be able to at least keep it close against a USC team that can’t help but find its adrenaline reservoir a little low in this road outing.

TCU at West Virginia Betting Line: Point Spread, Total, Moneyline, Pick

Now for a favorite that should roll …

TCU (-7.5 consensus) at West Virginia

The No. 7 Horned Frogs (7-0 SU/5-1-1 ATS) just completed the meat-grinder portion of their schedule unscathed with four consecutive victories against teams that were ranked 19th or better when they met.

Now TCU, which has the league’s third-ranked offense in yards gained, hits the road to face a Mountaineers team (3-4 SU/4-3 ATS) that has major issues on defense, ranking 116th in that category.

This seems like a mighty nice matchup for Frogs QB Max Duggan, the nation’s fifth-ranked QB with 19 TD passes and one INT.

Look for TCU to snap its four-game losing streak to WVU in grand fashion.
