CFL Week 11 Odds & Picks

Here are the odds for each game in Week 11 of the 2023 CFL season from several of the top sports betting apps:

Winnipeg Blue Bombers (7-2 SU, 5-4 ATS) vs. Calgary Stampeders (3-6 SU, 3-6 ATS)

  • When: Friday, 9 p.m. ET
  • How to Watch: streaming on the league’s online platform, CFL+.

A week after dominating one of the best teams in the CFL (BC Lions), the Blue Bombers defense got off to a slow start against as the worst offense in the league (Edmonton Elks) got out to an early 15-0 lead. It didn’t help that the offense also got off to a slow start.

When Zach Collaros went down with an injury late during the first half, it appeared that Winnipeg fans might be in for a long day. But Dru Brown and the offense stepped up in the second half, and the defense clamped down as the Blue Bombers overcame a 22-point deficit to win by nine.

With Collaros  sitting out pratice this week, Dru Brown will get the start.

Calgary is coming off a tough outing against BC that saw the offense struggle to get on track again. Jake Maeir is second in the league in passing yards but was just 17-31 for 131 yards. However, it was his first game this season without an interception, but his third in a row without a touchdown.

Make it Eight Wins For Winnipeg

The Calgary defense will struggle to keep up with the Winnipeg offense, no matter who lines up at quarterback, Collaros or Brown. As for the Stampeders offense, don’t count on it to have a good night against a solid Blue Bombers defense. Maeir has struggled recently, and there is no reason to think this night will be any different.

Winnipeg beat the Stampeders 24-11 in Week 5. This game will not be as competitive as that one even with Collaros out of the lineup.

Our Pick: Winnipeg -4

Montreal Alouettes (5-3 SU, 5-3 ATS) vs. Ottawa Red Blacks (3-6 SU, 3-6 ATS): Moneyline, Point Spread, and Total

  • When: Saturday, 7 p.m. ET
  • How to Watch: Broadcast via CBSSN; streaming on the league’s online platform, CFL+. Fans can also stream it at CBSSports.com or on CBS Sports App.

Cody Fajardo was a game-time decision last week (and will be this week as well) against Saskatchewan and ended up sitting out Montreal’s blowout victory (41-12). Caleb Evans had an efficient day filling in for him (8-13 for 149 yards, one touchdown, and one interception). The team leaned on a solid run game (186 total yards) and stingy defense.

But this week, they’ll face a more challenging test against a Redblacks team coming off a tough loss to Toronto. Dustin Crum had his best day of the season against the Argonauts, throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns. But it wasn’t enough to overcome an even better day by Toronto quarterback Chad Kelly (400+ yards and four touchdowns).

Keep An Eye On The Injury Report

The Redblacks could be in for a long night if Cody Fajardo starts. Caleb Evans probably would not decimate Ottawa’s league’s worst pass defense, but Fajardo will. Montreal may get William Stanback back this week, but that doesn’t mean they’ll test the league’s No. 1 run defense.

Dustin Crum has the potential to have a good day against a mediocre Montreal pass defense, but he could just as easily struggle.

Our Pick: Montreal -2.5; the spread will get bigger if/when the team announces whether Fajardo will start.

BC Lions (7-2 SU, 6-3 ATS) vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders (4-5 SU, 4-5 ATS): Moneyline, Point Spread, and Total

  • When: Sunday, 7 p.m. ET
  • How to Watch: Broadcast via CBSSN; streaming on the league’s online platform, CFL+. Fans can also stream it at CBSSports.com or on CBS Sports App.

Saskatchewan has had trouble keeping quarterbacks healthy this season, and it appears that another will miss time with an injury. Mason Fine left last week’s game against Montreal with a hamstring injury and could be out for two to three weeks.

That means Jake Dolegala will likely get the start. Dolegala struggled to get the offense on track last week and led the team to only nine points in the second half during garbage time.

BC got Vernon Adams Jr. back last week, and the Lions quarterback picked up where he left off, carving up the Calgary secondary with 300+ yards and four touchdowns.

Lions Win No. 8 to Keep Pace With Blue Bombers in West Division Standings

Unless several players go down with injuries before kickoff or early in the game, BC will win this game. But there is no value in betting the moneyline, and it is difficult to project how the scoring will go making it hard to have faith in taking the Under or Over.

But with Vernon Adams in the lineup, the Lions offense will roar. With Saskatchewan likely starting a young, inexperienced quarterback against the No. 1 scoring defense in the CFL, the Roughriders could get shut out.

Our Pick: Lions -9.5; it’s a large spread, but it’s the best choice.
