The huge second half comeback set the stage for Detroit, the new “who dat team,” for its Monday Night Football date at Ford Field.

The Lions turned a sure loss into a great win at Dallas. ESPN is, to say the least, in a party mood and so will the Detroit faithful be as my friends there tell me you’ve never seen parties like they have planned for this game against Chicago.

The Lions are 4-0. The Bears, a very competitive team, are 2-2 for the season. Don’t give this game to Detroit laying the six points. I do believe it will come down to the wire if the script is played out, and no one will be pressing their remote button to hit the sack except for maybe yours truly.

Last week was ok as I went 5-3 with Penn State not being able to score and Alabama way too much for the Gators. Arizona State won by only 15, but a win is a win. We are on track now so let’s move forward and try making some cash while maybe hitting one of those 10-team parlay cards.

A bettor hit a big one at South Point two weeks ago. When I was at the window at Palace Station on Sunday there was a bettor cashing a 10-teamer so they are being hit. Remember, if you don’t play one you have no shot at hitting.

Like my dad, the legendary “Broadway Bennie,” would say: “You may be walking around lucky and not even know it.”

COLLEGE FOOTBALL Saturday

BC +21 at Clemson: Undefeated Clemson comes off a big win in Blacksburg beating Virginia Tech 23-3. I see no reason they will even let the pitiful BC offense cross the goal line. Lay it! CLEMSON.

Conn +20 at W. Virginia: This is the second team in what I will call my wood parlay. The WVU QB will be too much for the visiting Huskies. W. VIRGINIA.

Minnesota +3 at Purdue: These are two bad teams but I prefer to keep going against the Golden Gophers who own losses against New Mexico State, and N. Dakota State. PURDUE.

Louisville +13 at UNC: The Tar Heels can score while the Cardinals could only muster 13 points at home against Marshall. This is one of those games, like Wisconsin last week, that just looks too easy. UNC.

B. Green +11 at W. Michigan: The Falcons were hammered last year by the Broncos 41-7 and this looks like the same result. W. Mich is off a nice win at UConn and almost beat Illinois the previous week, losing 23-20. WMU has covered four straight. W. MICHIGAN.

Colorado +27 at Stanford: This game starts my lay the wood midday games as the Buffaloes’ West Coast venture really turns bad in Stanford. QB Andrew Luck has another big day and HC Shaw has not been calling off the dogs. He wants Luck to be a cinch for the U-know-what. The Cardinal 4-0 SU and ATS. STANFORD.

Air Force +16 at N. Dame: I will give the Irish just one more shot as they finally seem to have put it all together. Irish catch the Falcons off huge win against the Navy last week. NOTRE DAME.

UNLV +20 at Nevada: Still trying to figure out how the Rebels beat Hawaii 40-20 and then were hammered by Southern Utah the following week 41-16. This will be a blood bath as the Wolf Pack just flat out don’t like Vegas. Look for them to pour it on. NEVADA.

Michigan -5 at N’western: The Wolverines playing like something good to eat for first year HC Brady Hoke. Big Blue now 5-0 SU and 4-0 ATS. It would have been 5-0 ATS if not for suspended game. MICH.

NFL
Monday

I like a lot of games this week but I will be making my teasers keying on the Monday night game. I will take “da Bears” +6½ and hope to get +7 and +13 on my teasers. The perfect season comes to an end for the Lions, who celebrated all week long. BEARS.

BREEDERS NOTE:

The Breeders’ Cup is just a month away so here’s a little reminder that we will be having our 4th annual BC seminar in the Palace Station race book on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6 pm.

Palace top gun Josh Pool says it will be the biggest and best ever, so make plans. The event is a must. Don’t miss the free deal with food, drinks and winners by yours truly, Vic Vivio and the all-knowing Race Day Las Vegas and Bad Beat host Ralph Siraco.
