Connecticut sports betting is live and bettors now have access to 3 sports betting apps. This means bettors will have most of the NFL season and the MLB postseason to place bets. Here are the latest updates on that front along with how bettors can wager on their favorite sports in the state.

Connecticut Sports Betting Bonus Offers At Launch

Here are the top sports betting bonus offers available in Connecticut for new bettors. These bonus offers are generally only available when downloading and registering at a mobile app, and won’t be available at any retail sportsbook location.

Connecticut Sports Betting Apps Now Live!

Three sportsbooks are going to be offered in Connecticut with the initial launch of sports betting. Both Native American tribes feature two of the most popular sports gambling operators with exclusive partnerships. Foxwoods Resort Casino (DraftKings) and Mohegan Sun (FanDuel) will be the only retail locations for these particular sportsbooks. Both apps are also launching casino games as well.

Up to 15 different retail locations will feature SugarHouse and Rush Street Interactive through its partnership with the Connecticut Lottery. This will be a prominent staple in many of Connecticut’s most popular cities. The SugarHouse Sportsbook app is also live in Connecticut. Rush Street Interactive operates the SugarHouse brand in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and the BetRivers brand in a few other jurisdictions.

All three sportsbooks will feature an online platform and standalone mobile app for bettors to use. The Connecticut sports betting apps are available for download from Apple iOS devices, Android devices or through mobile or desktop browsers.

Recent Legislation Updates In Connecticut

On May 27, 2021, Governor Ned Lamont signed House Bill 6451 days after it passed through the State Senate. Lamont has been in support of legalizing sports betting with the involvement of the local Indian tribes back in early 2020. In March 2021, the governor reached an agreement with both the Mohegan Tribe and Mashantucket Pequot Tribe to offer sports wagering.

Two of the largest sports gambling operators have made agreements with the Indian tribes. DraftKings Sportsbook partnered with Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by Mashantucket Pequot, back in December 2020. The Mohegan connected with FanDuel Sportsbook in July and will feature their platform at Mohegan Sun. Both of these skins will be featured at casinos operated by the tribes and through mobile apps.

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation is another operator to receive a license in this industry. They selected Rush Street Interactive as their sports betting partner on August 12. 15 different sports gambling operators were part of the selection process that took place throughout the year. This brings the BetRivers and/or SugarHouse sportsbook skin at up to 15 locations throughout the state along with a mobile platform.

On August 31, the Regulation Review Committee in the Connecticut General Assembly approved state regulations. Next up is approval from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, part of the US Department of the Interior. Mashantucket Pequot Chairman Rodney Butler believes action will take place in a few weeks.

How To Start Betting In Connecticut

Individuals just getting into sports betting should look at various deposit bonuses offered by the three sportsbooks. FanDuel offers a $1,000 risk-free bet for new users. If the first bet loses, users are able to get their money back in site credit.

For comparison, SugarHouse offers a 100% deposit match of up to $250. This means new users can deposit up to $250 and receive that same amount in extra money toward their betting account. Many bonuses have a limited time of availability and terms are subject to change. SugarHouse offers one of the best in the industry for new bettors because there is only a 1x playthrough requirement. This makes it pretty easy for bettors to take advantage of the full amount of the Connecticut bonus offer.

Sports wagering is going to be available across many popular professional sports, including NFL, NBA, and MLB. College sports are also offered, but bettors are not able to place wagers on state-based programs, like the University of Connecticut.

Betting must take place within Connecticut state lines, but individuals do not need to be a resident. Sportsbooks are accessed at their respective retail locations or within their online platform and standalone mobile app. These apps are available for iOS and Android devices and downloadable from the App Store and Google Play Store, respectively.
