Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers Betting News
The Dallas Cowboys enter the NFL Divisional Round fresh off a statement victory against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys defense proved too much for the seven-time Super Bowl Champion, forcing the Bucs into three-and-outs for the majority of their offensive series. The Cowboys got out to an 18-point lead at halftime, which should have been higher, but kicker Brett Maher missed three consecutive PATs in the first half. He went on to add a fourth missed PAT in the third quarter, an NFL record for a playoff game.
Any concerns about quarterback Dak Prescott were firmly put to rest in the Wild Card round. Dak threw four touchdown passes and added another rushing touchdown for a five-TD performance against the Bucs. He’ll need a similar performance in San Francisco if the Cowboys are to upset the juggernaut 49ers on the road this evening.
The 49ers are arguably the NFL’s best team right now. They’ll be riding an impressive 11-game winning streak into the NFC Divisional Round. Bettors backing the NFC’s No. 2 seed during that stretch have been paid handsomely, as the 49ers sport a 9-2 record against the spread (ATS) during their 11-game winning streak.
The stats are there to back up this impressive run. The 49ers are averaging more than 30 points per game over their winning streak while holding opponents to less than 20 points in 10 of those 11 games. Rookie sensation Brock Purdy has looked fantastic, throwing for three touchdowns and adding one on the ground during last week’s 41-23 win against the Seattle Seahawks.

Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers Injury Update
There are a number of key players injured for both teams in this NFC Divisional matchup.
Fortunately for Cowboys fans, that does not include star defensive player Micah Parsons. The DPOY candidate was slow to get up after a hit in the Cowboys’ blowout victory over the Bucs. While he limped off the field with an apparent ankle injury, Parsons only missed one series and finished the game. He says he’ll be ready to go against the 49ers.
Offensive lineman Jason Peters may not be so fortunate. The Cowboys veteran remains questionable with a hip injury, which could leave Prescott vulnerable in the pocket. Rookie Tyler Smith filled his role for the remainder of the game and is expected to start against the 49ers.
49ers fans have reason to be optimistic, as the latest injury report shows both quarterbacks Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo making significant strides in their recovery. Neither is expected to start any time soon, but the news is certainly encouraging.
Several 49ers were limited in practice on Wednesday, most notably defensive star Joey Bosa and offensive lineman Trent Williams. This is not unusual as both players tend to rest mid-week. Both Bosa and Williams are expected to be 100% healthy and start against the Cowboys.
49ers cornerback Ambry Thomas did not play against the Seahawks and is questionable for the NFL Divisional Round with an ankle injury.
Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers Prediction
As of this writing, bettors are taking the 49ers at a much higher clip than the Cowboys. More than 65% of the betting tickets are backing the home favorite in this NFC matchup. However… the dollars tell a completely different story! Despite only pulling 35% of the betting tickets, the Cowboys are taking a whopping 78% of the total dollars wagered! That means big money is backing the Cowboys against the spread.

This game is sure to be one of the most compelling of the entire playoffs. What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Who comes out ahead: the high-flying offense of the 49ers or the tough Cowboys’ defense? When all is said and done, you have to back the 49ers in this spot. You don’t just stumble into an 11-game winning streak unless you’re a well-oiled machine. The 49ers have no holes anywhere on the roster. With Cowboys kicker Maher looking a little shaky, a few missed kicks would make a huge difference for this short-point spread.
Give me the 49ers and the small number.
