What’s better than a neighborhood bar that has a good selection of craft beers, great food and plenty of TV’s for viewing all of your favorite sports and teams?
The recently opened Scenic Brewing Co., located at 8410 W. Desert Inn Road, checks all the boxes on that list.
Let’s start with the beer as Scenic has over 20 beers to choose from, including five different beers that they brew right there on site. My buddy and I sat in the bar at a table by the glass that looks in on the five large vats of home brews. He would refer to himself as a beer connoisseur, but I just call him a beer snob. He tried three different offerings, one of Scenic’s own brews and two others from local brewers. If you like beer, there is going to be something for you as he was happy with the selection.
For me, it’s all about the food and watching sports. Let’s start with the bar setup as there are nice brand-new flat screens all around, so no matter where you sit you have a great view for all the action. This will be a great place to catch to the NHL playoffs and root for the Golden Knights.
But let’s get to the food because the menu is quite extensive. There’s a big selection of appetizers, including six different flatbreads. All are also available in Gluten Free versions upon request.
Scenic had a nice selection of burgers, including a Bison Burger which is the one I ordered. Bison meat is a much leaner meat than your normal burger so when you bite into your burger you are not going to have all the juice running out that you would normally have from a traditional burger.
With that said the Bison meat was very moist and a much healthier burger for you. I absolutely loved it. My buddy Marc went with the Battle Born BBQ Burger which had porchetta, house slaw, ale BBQ sauce and crispy fried onions on it. It was messy but he enjoyed it immensely.
In addition to all your normal bar food items they have several entrees with everything from steaks and seafood to pastas and BBQ ribs. I have to go back to try some other items, including the Viennese Schnitzel and Bratwurst plate with house made sauerkraut. The herb-roasted porchetta and beer-brined roasted chicken all sounded so good. Save room for dessert as they have several offerings, including the chocolate banana swirl cake which I had and liked a lot.
There are weekday Happy Hour specials from 3-6 p.m. featuring their own beers for $3 and $6 appetizers. Our waiter was very good helping with beer and food suggestions. I give Scenic Brewing Co. a rating of 3.75 Forks.
