Optional $62,500 fillies and mares go five furlongs on the grass. The last time No. 1 Snow Cloud won was going five furlongs on this course. No. 2 Swirling comes off a ten month layoff for Sadler, she won on this course almost a year to the day. No. 3 Okinawa gets her second start on the West Coast for Baltas, she ran a big time second first out here in the $75k Daiseycutter on the 3rd, Van Dyke will ride and she is the filly to beat. Prat jumps on No. 7 Painting Corners for Peter Miller on the turn back. 3****-7

Race 3

Starter allowance runners go 6-1/2 furlongs. No. 5 Captivate just missed at this level last out here on the 3rd when a neck in front of No. 6 Caray. Trainer D’Amato sends out the uncoupled entry of No. 7 Kershaw off a 13 length maiden score. He claimed him for $40k and it’s a good sign he puts him in this claim proof spot. He also sends out No. 8 Goodwillambassador who just did fail to get up going 7 furlongs last out with $50k company. 5-6-7-8

Race 4

$20k maiden’s go six furlongs. No. 6 Buck Duane comes off the layoff for Miyadi, he just missed vs. Cal bred $50k runners at Santa Anita back in Januray, he shows a good last work. No. 8 Kopitar has run second in both of his starts at this level. 8**-6

Race 5

$40k runners go five furlongs on the grass. Prat gets back on No. 6 My Man Chuckles for Richard Baltas. He rode this gelding three times winning two of them and finishing second in the other and those two wins were down the hill, he looks set today on the drop. No. 8 Our Independence gets his second start on the West Coast for Hess, he will go much better today with a waiting ride. 6**-8

Race 6

Optional $40k fillies and mare go six furlongs. No. 2 Vallestina has run four races in her career and all four have been good efforts, she won here last year when Prat rode her and he gets back on today, second off the layoff. No. 3 Just a Princess gets back to a sprint off a big last work. No. 7 Spiced Perfection has a bullet last work and gets some class relief. 2-3-7

Race 7


No. 7 Vale Dori has run here four times with two wins and two seconds, she has a big last work and gets Van Dyke riding for Baffert, we will take our shot and single. 7

Race 8

$50k maiden fillies and mares travel a mile on the grass. No. 3 Temple Princess had a horrible last trip vs. better going a mile on the grass here on the 3rd. She has come back to work good and wins this with a clean trip and some pace to run at up front. No. 10 Venue drops in from straight maiden races and exits a good last race in which the winner came back to score again next out. 3**-10
