No. 1 Kafister has waited a long time to make this race, he loves this track hitting the board in all six of his starts here with 3 wins. No. 5 Los Borrachos won like a good thing in his first start on the West Coast, he was claimed by Peter Miller who gives him a confident boost in class and he also exits our HTW list. 5***-1

Race 2

No. 1 Highly Acclaimed comes off the layoff and was last seen going wire-to-wire down the hill at Santa Anita last October, he will love this five furlong turf course. No. 5 Spiritual Warrior just broke his maiden here going a mile on the grass and now will need to sit off a hot pace and pounce down the lane. No. 7 Plate Side will also sit back and make a late run at the tiring speed. 1-5-7

Race 3

No. 4 Respect the Shot just missed in his first start when sent off at 9/5, he will be tough to beat here. No. 8 Royal Trump showed some good early speed in his last start here with $50k maidens and now is in with $32k, the drop can only help. 4**-8

Race 4

No. 1 Native Treasure gets off the grass and drops in class looking for the win, Hess and Desormeaux hook up with No. 9 Tasunke Witco who is in from Belmont Park looking for some of the ship and win cash, he has a big last work. 9**-1

Race 5

THE $100K DEL MAR JUVENILE TURF AT ONE MILE

No. 2 Pubilius Syrus exits out HTW list, he is still a maiden but fits. No. 8 My Boy Jack is also still a maiden but off his last two he can come from off the pace and run them all down. Wesley Ward ships to win with No. 9 Linburgh’s Kitten and Mike Smith gets the call. No. 13 Encumbered started his career in the Santa Anita Juvenile vs. Run Away, he then won next out going a mile on the grass. 2-8-9-13

Race 6

We continue this very difficult card with 2yo maidens going 6-1/2 furlongs, Baffert sends out the $850k purchase No. 3 Alluring Star who makes her first start for owner Gary Barber, he also sends out first-time starter No. 5 Thirteen Squared who has his back-to-back five furlong work pattern and that is his go pattern.  5***-3

Race 7

No. 1 Show Me Da Lute exits our HTW list, we have been waiting for his return and he has found a good spot, Peter Miller drops No. 3 Got Even and puts Roman up as he goes for the win. No. 2 The Lieutenant gets his second start off the layoff and back to a better distance, he will sit and try and make a late run. 1-3-2

Race 8

THE $250K DEL MAR DERBY AT 1-1/8 ON THE GRASS

No. 3 Bowies Hero exits our HTW list off a solid win last out here, he is a perfect 2 for 2 on this course. No. 5 Sharp Samurai comes off a big win in the Grade 3 La Jolla, he has won 3 of his 4 turf starts. No. 6 Fashion Business is the stable mate of Bowie and he also exits our HTW list off his 2nd by a head behind Sharp Samurai in the La Jolly. 3-5-6

No. 2 Excavation gets off the grass and looks spotted for action, No. 3 Dukes Up is the barn mate of Excavation and he exits our HTW list off a tough loss last out. No. 5 Rings of Jupiter ran good in his last start here and fits. No. 10 Desert General exits the same race as Dukes up and he gets a big jock switch to Flavien Prat. 2-3-5-10

Race 10

This tough day ends with maiden 2yo going a mile on the grass, Kent D sticks around to ride first-time starter No. 6 Bitter Ring Home for Neil Drysdale, Mike Smith sticks around to ride first-time starter No. 8 Fibonacci for Richard Baltas, this colt is bred to love the green, after that you need to hit the all button. 8-9
