DEL MAR OPENING DAY
Race 1
It just doesn’t get any better than being at Del Mar on opening day and today will be no exception as we begin a huge ten race card and as usual they start right in front of the fans going a mile. No. 4 Our Nation is the speed on the drop and this will be a good race to see how the track is playing to front runners as this gelding could go wire-to-wire. No. 5 Getoffmyback also will show some early speed on the streatchout for team Miller and Roman. No. 9 Papa Royale is perfectly spotted off the maiden score. 4-5-6
Race 2
No. 1 Pedro Cerrano comes off the layoff for Peter Miller and this gelding is a prefect 2 for 2 on this course and his last win came here at this exact 6-1/2 furlong distance. No. 3 Where Y’at Joe Joe comes into this race in top form. No. 6 Bronzino gets off the grass and a turn back in distance first off the O’Neill claim and Bejarano jumps back on board as he rode this gelding one race back. 1-3-6
Race 3
Cal bred allowance runners go 1-1/16 on the grass. No. 4 Over Par will be the key player here as he exits our HTW list off a nostril loss last out, we will use him first and second with No. 3 Popular Kid a first-time gelding. No. 5 Accountability the speed who exits the same race as Over Par and No. 6 Alsatian who also exits the race. 4**-3-5-6
Race 4
Maiden fillies and mares go six furlongs. No. 2 Slim Fit is in from Delaware and is eligible for some of that extra ship and win cash, she has top connections and was well bet in her one start. No. 3 Pretty Owl is a first-time $250k starter for the hot hookup of Baffert and Mike Smith, this filly is working like a runner. No. 8 Classy Tune is the filly to beat off her nose loss first off the layoff last out. 2-3-8
Race 5
Maiden 2yo fillies go five furlongs and our play of the day comes in this race. No. 8 Just a Smidge is a $425k first-time starter for Bob Baffert, the key here is he has put back-to-back five furlong works into this filly and this is his go sign, Bejarano who has been working this filly in the mornings should get her home at first asking, the main danger looks to be No. 6 Tyfosha who was sent off at .50 cents on the dollar in her one start finishing second and No. 10 Fracas who was sent off at even money in her one start finishing third. 8****-6-10
Race 6
Optional $62,500 claiming fillies and mares go 1-1/8 on the grass. No. 3 Family Meeting is in town from Florida for Tom Proctor looking for some ship and win cash and his go to jock Van Dyke gets the call, she ran here once before and got the win. No. 12 Nodiac likes this course and has tip top connections. 3-12
Race 7
Optional $40k claimers go a mile on the dirt. No. 2 Karma King loves it here by the sea as he has won 3 of 5 races with 2 seconds, he gets his second off the layoff and it looks like trainer Brian Koriner has pointed him to this spot. No. 9 Giant Expectations is back in town from Belmont Park where he won both of this starts, Gary Stevens will ride. 2-9
Key Play

Race 8
THE $100K OCEANSIDE AT A MILE ON THE GRASS
No. 1 Arms Runner who won both of his starts going down the hill at Santa Anita will now go a mile on the grass as he will try to make it three in a row. No. 4 Bowies Hero won the Del Mar Juvenile Turf here last September, he looks set to fire a big shot. No. 11 Caribou Club is another ship and win runner for team Tom Proctor and Van Dyke, he is in from Pimlico via Keeneland. 4**-1-11
Race 9
Maiden 2yo fillies go five furlongs. No. 4 Spiced Perfection has run back-to-back good races, both as the chalk, she looks short again. No. 6 Smiling Tigress exits the same race as Spiced Perfection and she could surprise at a price. 4-6
Race 10
No. 1 Dream Police gets the new bug girl 20 year old Laura Werner who had a good meet at Los Alamitos, she can ride so do not be afraid to bet her, look for her to be gunning Dream Police from the bell. No. 4 Private Prospect is a ship and win runner for Diodoro, he looks very sneaky in here. No. 5 Que Chistoso gets a big drop in class and its always a good sign here at Del Mar when Kent Desormeaux sticks around to ride the last race especially for his buddy Hess. 5***-4-1
