The Las Vegas Strip has many restaurants with spectacular views. But one of the most romantic settings in all of Las Vegas is miles off the Strip.

This week Lori and I had a romantic dinner at Americana Restaurant on the Lake located at 2620 Regatta Dr. Suite 118. The restaurant is right on Lake Jacqueline in Desert Shores. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary or just want a romantic dinner with your significant other, this is the perfect place as the view is spectacular and the food matches the view.

On this trip, we ordered the Romaine Hearts salad which is their version of a Caesar salad and was a nice start to the meal. For dinner, I was torn between the Bone-In Filet and the Surf and Surf. The Surf and Surf dish was grilled scallops served with Lobster Ravioli.

My decision was made easy when my wife ordered the Bone-In Filet as I knew she would never finish all of it, so if I ordered the Surf and Surf, I knew it would actually become Surf, Surf and Turf with me getting what Lori didn’t finish of her steak.

Let me say I would have been completely happy with just my Surf and Turf as the Lobster Ravioli was maybe the best I’ve ever had, and the grilled scallops were spot on. The citrus Blood Orange sauce went well with the scallops. The dish was $36 and worth every penny.

The Bonus for me was the Bone-In Filet which was a nice sized portion and melted in your mouth. The Filet was $49 and on the Strip a Bone-In Filet would be $65 or higher.

I have ordered many of these on the Strip and this was just as good or better. Having the steak after my seafood was the perfect combination. They also have a dry aged Rib-eye on the menu along with a Colorado Lamb T-Bone Chop. I will be trying both of those dishes in the future.

Save room for dessert as they have a nice selection to choose from along with after-dinner drinks. Sitting by the lake and having drinks as the day turns to night with all the lights in the trees surrounding the restaurant makes Americana one of the most romantic restaurants and best views in all of Las Vegas.

Americana has a great staff to attend to all your needs and makes your dinner an experience rather than just a meal. I give Americana Restaurant on the Lake a rating of 4 Forks.
