This week I found another mom-and-pop place just a few minutes from where I live, making it even better for me. Dirty Fork (3655 Durango Drive) just opened a couple months ago and is open daily from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. There are so many good breakfast/lunch restaurants in Las Vegas; now I have found another to add to the list.
I have been here twice since they opened and had breakfast on both of my trips. On my first visit I stopped in on a Sunday by myself for a quick bite. The menu had so many unique offerings. My waitress was helpful in going over the menu and telling me her favorite dishes. Based on her recommendation I went with what they call the Dirty Fork Breakfast Special. This was two pieces of French toast with an egg baked into the middle and topped with pieces of fried chicken and fresh strawberries.
This is their take of chicken n waffles with French toast instead of waffles. This was absolutely amazing and very filling. The waitress was spot on with her recommendation.
On my second visit I went back with my wife Lori and our friend Marc. On this visit I decided to go with their French Kiss Crepes Breakfast. These were thin French-style pancakes with your choice of Nutella, fresh bananas or fresh strawberries. I chose Nutella and fresh strawberries and they were great.
The thin crepe pancakes were so light and the Nutella took care of that sweet tooth craving while the fresh strawberries made me feel less guilty about having a dessert-like item. This breakfast was fantastic.
Lori went with the Blueberry Bliss Pancake Breakfast. The pancakes were light, fluffy and loaded with fresh blueberries. Marc went with what I had on my first visit and enjoyed the Dirty Fork Breakfast Special as much as I did. Marc also had their fresh squeezed Orange juice. The juice was excellent and loaded with pulp.
One of their other popular breakfast dishes is their 9th Island French Toast Breakfast where they make the French toast with Hawaiian sweet bread and top it with guava cream cheese and coconut syrup. This is on my list for my next visit.
Another nice touch was that the owner came by to ask how we liked everything and talk about a few of his special creations. This is why I like small mom and pop places so much as you can see the pride in the product they serve and they truly do appreciate your business.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu, extremely helpful with her suggestions and answered all of our questions. I give Dirty Fork a rating of 3.75 forks.
