All eyes will be on NBC Sunday Night Football this week as the Eagles look to rebound from their first loss of the season against another 5-1 team, Mike McDaniel’s high-scoring Dolphins.
The Dolphins were beaten handily in their toughest game of the year to date, against Buffalo in Week 4, so Sunday night gives the Fins another chance to prove they can not only blow out the league’s bad teams but also defeat good ones on the road.
Let’s analyze the Dolphins vs. Eagles odds and props, and give a prediction.

Dolphins vs. Eagles Analysis and Prediction
On paper, Sunday night’s game looks like a bad matchup for the home team. Philadelphia’s secondary has dealt with one injury after another all season, and last Sunday against the Jets, three more players (safety Reed Blankenship, recent CB signing Bradley Roby, and rookie CB Eli Ricks) got hurt.
The good news for Nick Sirianni’s team is that Darius Slay and Sydney Brown might be back in action. Even if those players return, though, the Dolphins’ talented receivers are going to have very favorable matchups.
The best chance Philly has of keeping the Dolphins’ offense in check would be to dominate the line of scrimmage so thoroughly that the Dolphins can’t run the ball. This is something the Eagle’s D-line is certainly capable of.
If Tua Tagovailoa is forced into third-and-long repeatedly, the Eagles may be to able to pin their ears back and apply enough pressure to prevent him from finding Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Co. downfield. That is a ton to ask against a balanced, red-hot offense like Miami’s, though.
On offense, Philly QB Jalen Hurts, RB D’Andre Swift, and WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have a chance to put up some points. But with RT Lane Johnson likely out due to an ankle injury, backup Jack Driscoll will have to play much better than he did in relief of Johnson last week when he struggled mightily against the Jets. Miami’s defensive line isn’t quite as tough as the Jets’, but Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, and Christian Wilkins are an imposing group, especially for a unit possibly missing one of its best players.
It seems risky, if not foolish, to bet against the reigning NFC champs at home, but even if Johnson manages to play and the Eagles’ secondary has a few more healthy bodies than it’s had in recent weeks, this is a brutal matchup for Philadelphia. Take the Dolphins and the points, and if you’re feeling bold, Miami on the moneyline () offers some value.
Pick: Dolphins (+2.5 at time of publishing)
