Downtown Summerlin is a growing and happening part of town. With the Las Vegas Ballpark now open and the Las Vegas Aviators’ season underway, I will be taking even more trips to Downtown Summerlin.

If you are looking for a place to go before or after catching a ballgame, I highly recommend going to Frankie’s Uptown located at 1770 Festival Plaza Drive, Suite 109. The theme is a neighborhood bar and it really does have that feel to it.

Frankie’s Uptown has plenty of TV’s for watching your favorite games while having a couple cold adult beverages with friends.

Just like every bar, they have a Happy Hour Monday thru Friday that runs from 3-6:15 p.m. During Happy Hour all beers are 50 percent off and all Well Cocktails, Tap Wines and a few specialty drinks are $6.15 to match the time that Happy Hour ends.

There are select food items priced at $6.15 as well, including Truffle Fries or Chips, Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños or House Made Meatballs.

On this visit my wife ordered one of their burgers which come with house-made potato chips or fries. Her burger was very good as she was gracious enough to let me have a couple bites.

I went with a Stroll. The Stroll is Frankie’s Uptown version of a Calzone or Stromboli. They have specialty Strolls that are preset combinations, or you can order a “How You Doin Stroll,” which lets you build your own Stroll. You get mozzarella cheese and three toppings of your choice to put inside.

I went with pepperoni, mushrooms and onions. I loved my Stroll and will be back  for another.

Frankie’s Uptown has several sandwiches, salads and entrees to choose from, including Fried Chicken served with Sweet Potato mashed potatoes.

Make sure you save room for dessert as they have some good ones. On this visit I went with the cannoli dip. They serve this dish with a bowl of cannoli cream with chocolate chips surrounded by a plate of Italian cookies to dip into the cannoli cream. If you like cannolis, this dessert with blow your mind.

The wait staff is very friendly, and Frankie’s Uptown may be the closest bar/restaurant to the new Las Vegas Ballpark. You are literally just across the street, making it the perfect stop before or after the game. I give Frankie’s Uptown a rating of 3.75 Forks.
