The 640-room Fitzgerald Hotel/Casino, a part of the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, is being acquired by the owners of the nearby Golden Gate Hotel/Casino.
Fitzgeralds was owned and operated for a number of years by the late Don Barden, the Detroit, Mich., entrepreneur who developed gaming properties in Nevada as well as Indiana.
A probate judge last week approved the sale by the Barden estate trustees to Derek Stevens, majority owner of the Golden Gate, and his brother Greg Stevens.
