As usual come football season, there are an assortment of football contests and cool events to chose from. Here is a sampling.


The casino’s $100,000 Airin’ it Out Football Contest returns this season offering fans a 17-week gameday challenge. Prize money will be awarded to players with the most correct winning selections from every game of the regular season. As a bonus, guests who buy the maximum three entries will receive a fourth entry for free. Contest registration is now open with each entry priced at $25.

Hard Rock

The $25,000 Gridiron Maiden Football Contest is back, running from Sept. 9 to Jan. 2, 2016. Contestants can win a share of $1,000 every week in free slot play. You must be a Backstage Pass club member to participate and free weekly picks are based on tier level as follows: General Admission – 1 free pick; Entourage – 2 free picks; Platinum Access – 3 free picks; and Multi-Platinum Access – 4 free picks.

Players can earn additional picks Wednesday-Saturday by earning 250 slot base points and or $25 table theoretical equaling 1 pick. There is a maximum of 8 earned picks per week (4 earned by base slot points and 4 earned by table theoretical.) There will be prizes for weekly winners, weekly losers and season winners. TAP Sports Bar and Michael Mina Pub 1842 will be offering patrons a featured drink during football games and those who participate will receive a raffle ticket for a chance at prizes like NFL helmets and jerseys awarded three times during each game.

Station Casinos

A brand new free contest is the $750,000 Free Gridiron Glory. It involves pro football and utilizes the Boarding Pass Rewards Kiosk to track play in addition to being free. It also gives guests the opportunity to include picks from Thursday games and continues into the Playoffs and Championship game.

Contestants must have a Boarding Pass card or Jackie’s Club Cortez card for signing up at the El Cortez. Registration is now open and guests may make their first picks beginning Aug. 28 for games in Weeks 1 through 4.

Guests make selections and track progress throughout the life of the contest with a personalized “team helmet” that gains yardage across the football field with each correct pick. Players receive instant prizes, including Boarding Pass points, free slot play and more each time a touchdown is scored by their “team helmet.”

Players advance by making correct weekly team picks from Thursday, Sunday and Monday pro football games. Added flexibility allows players to make or change a pick until the sportsbook closes the lines.

Up to $15,000 in cash prizes will be awarded each week. First place wins $10,000 with an additional $5,000 split among tiebreakers, in the event of a tie. Advance to playoffs by playing all 17 weeks or scoring four “touchdowns” during the regular season.

Playoff picks include prop bets, over/under and game outcomes for an additional $50,000 in cash prizes. All post-season contestants will be entered to play in the Big Game that awards another $50,000 in cash prizes. First place winner receives $25,000.
