Saratoga Race 3
This is arguably the second best racing card of the year. It rates just behind Breeders Cup Saturday with regard to number of quality races and horses. This race should provide some value as it’s a large field of maiden fillies and mares. How often does trainer Bill Mott run a horse back in 10 days? Um, rarely ever which makes our top choice No. 6 Ocean Fire. She comes back to firm turf after running on dirt and a yielding course before that. Mott uses go-to jockey Alvarado and anything resembling the June 6th race at Belmont should be enough. No. 9 Dabinett had a serious “tightener” of a work last week. She should come with a rush of speed late in the race. No. 2 Charreada has a very nice sheet pattern entering this race and also has the best turf finishing jockey in the Capital Region.
