Saratoga Race 4
This public horse handicapping is tough. There have been some not-so-lucky trips and two clunkers. We’ve had a winner, a second, and a 23 dollar horse whom we bet in exactas, and not to win. Regardless of this, we forge ahead. The 4th race is an allowance/optional claiming N.Y. State bred races on the grass. These type of races tend to yield funky results. The No. 8 Way Early shows up after an eight month hiatus and a Grade 1 race at Del Mar. He’s also won at Saratoga. We’ll use him, but question if he’s tight enough to win this event. The No. 3 Ides of Arch has won here, trainer Bruce Levine has nice stats, and the blinkers coming off should help him relax. This is a bit of a “swing” but we’ll get paid handsomely if right. No. 1 Macagone has had more trainer changes than Khloe Kardashian has had boyfriends. And this trainer (ahem clear throat) has been known to improve his runners quite a bit.
