Saratoga Race 7
We got to gloat a bit yesterday with a nice exacta and key horse that ran 2nd. That’s yesterday’s news so we move forward. No. 4 Eagle Pass seems to run much better when given ample time to rest. This race is 84 days since the victory at Belmont, check. Trainer Bruce Levine wins 25% of the time when new horses arrive at his barn, check. And his sheet numbers indicate that he is one of the faster entrants in the group, check mate! No. 5 Bolita Boyz should be in the fray. He ran 2nd at this distance at the beginning of the meet. And also ran a competitive 2nd at The Spa last summer. Horse for course? Of course. No. 1 Javelin is a live long shot in here. Toss his last race as he stumbled out of the gate and chased the field from behind. Before that he’s been on the board four out of six races with respectable speed figures.
