Saratoga Race 7
Seems like the overnight rain is tapering off. This is an allowance “other than” race on the inner turf. Top choice is No. 3 Aquaphobia. Other than a Grade 2 stakes attempt last fall, this horse seems to always find a placing on the tote board. We like second race’s after a layoff as the first one back is typically a “tune-up.” This is his ideal distance as well. No. 1 Up the Ante is certainly the “class” horse of this race and he ran a big one in a Grade 3 here last year. But he’s been on the shelf, so not sure how fit he’ll be. No. 7 Zapperini adds the hood today in order to increase his focus. Trainer Jason Servis wins 33 percent of the time when making this equipment adjustment.
