The Niners have proven this season that they’re Purdy good, with two straight-up wins and one cover. New York, on the other hand, has some giant kinks to work out if it plans on keeping pace with the rest of the division.

Can NYG get win No. 2 in Week 3, or will the Niners moneyline be golden in Santa Clara on Thursday night? Let’s dive into Giants vs. 49ers odds, props, and a prediction.

Bettors eyeing the Niners 1st half total of 14.5 might want to consider how strong San Francisco came out in Games 1 and 2. In opening week against the Steelers, the 49ers scored a total of 20 points heading into the half. In their Week 2 win over the Rams, San Fran put 17 on the board before heading to the locker room.

When it comes to the 1-1 Giants, bettors who backed them in Week 1 likely want to fade New York. In the first matchup of the season, quarterback Daniel Jones & Co. laid an unsightly goose egg in a 40-0 loss to Dallas. The Giants turned the tide in Week 2, though, with a 31-28 win over Arizona.

But if you’re looking at 1st or 2nd half team totals for NYG, here’s something to note: The Giants are completely scoreless in the first halves of games this year. New York racked up all its points against the Cardinals in the third and fourth quarters.

The 2023 NFL season has gotten off to a perfect start for Coach Kyle Shanahan. And the team hasn’t skipped a beat despite shipping its 2021 first-round draft pick quarterback, Trey Lance, to the Dallas Cowboys in a trade at the end of August.

Not only is San Fran 2-0 this year, but in the squad’s last 13 games, they’ve gone 10-3 against the spread (ATS). And in their last 11 games against NFC opponents, the Niners have gone 9-2 against the spread.

Every bettor and football fan knows that the Giants’ season didn’t get off to a glowing start. Watching Daniel Jones get sacked seven times in Week 1 was likely painful for even fans of other NFC East teams. But they bounced back with a Week 2 win over the lowly Arizona Cardinals — a win that could give head coach Brian Daboll & Co. confidence that they’re moving in a more promising direction.

In their Week 2 win, though, the Giants failed to cover the 4.5-point spread. As a matter of fact, in the Giants’ last seven road games, New York is 5-2 against the spread. Can they get the cover on Thursday Night Football on the road in the Bay and keep this one closer than 10.5?

Take the 10.5 or leave it? That is the question.

We’re leaving it. Instead, we’re going to sprinkle some cash on the Niners odds for 1st half winner, their 1st half Over, and their moneyline. The Niners have the third-best scoring offense in the league right now, the leading rushing offense, and one of the best-scoring defenses of all 32 teams.

Expect offensive fireworks from San Francisco and look out for that defense to do its job of keeping the Giants at bay for at least one half in Santa Clara this Thursday.

Predictions:

  • Niners 1st half winner (Live: )
  • Over 14.5 1st-half points
  • Niners moneyline (Live: )
