New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting News
The New York Giants enter the NFC Divisional Round fresh off an upset win over the No. 3 Minnesota Vikings. QB Daniel Jones looked impressive in the Giants’ opening-round victory, throwing for more than 300 yards with two touchdowns. Jones also tallied 78 rushing yards, including a number of aggressive runs, risking his health and safety to eke out a few extra yards. It was a statement game from a player that’s been under major scrutiny during his short career.
The Giants’ defense stepped up to the challenge against a dangerous Vikings’ offense. Kirk Cousins was under constant pressure, getting sacked three times while being hurried on more than a dozen plays. Justin Jefferson, the NFL’s leading candidate for Offensive Player of the Year, was held to just 47 yards on seven total catches.

The Philadelphia Eagles will pose a much tougher test than the Vikings did for this scrappy Giants squad. The No. 1 seed in the NFC owned a league-best 14-3 regular season record, even more impressive considering MVP candidate Jalen Hurts was injured for two of those three losses. The Eagles have one of the best NFL offenses, equally dangerous in both the passing and rushing attacks. The Eagles averaged more than 28 points per game, good for third in the NFL this season. They ranked fifth in rushing yards gained and ninth in passing yards gained per game.
While this explosive Eagles’ offense gets more attention, their defense has been equally impressive. Holding their opponents to less than 300 offensive yards per game led the NFL in defensive yards allowed. The Eagles’ rushing defense has been average, but their pass defense has been outstanding. The Eagles held their opponents to less than 180 passing yards per game this season. That’s the best passing defense in the NFL by a wide margin.
This will be the third time the Giants and Eagles square off this season. The Eagles were 2-0 in both regular season matchups, winning by scores of 48-22 and 22-16.

New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Prediction
As of this writing, bettors are all over the underdog in the NFC East rematch. Giants +7.5 is getting close to 65% of the bets and more than 80% of the money.
It’s clear the Eagles are the better football team, but that’s why point spreads exist! We’re not looking to bet on the better team, we’re looking to bet on which team can cover a certain number of points. And getting a divisional rival above the key number of 7 presents a good opportunity for bettors.
We saw exactly how tough playoff games are played during the Wild Card Round, with only the 49ers covering the spread as a big favorite. Underdogs went 5-1 ATS last week, and that’s a trend that flows into the NFL Divisional Round as well. Road teams in divisional rematches during the NFL Playoffs have gone 14-4-1 ATS since 2003.
The Giants are playing awesome football right now and will enter this match against the Eagles highly motivated. Look for the underdog to keep this one close.

New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Injury Updates
There are a number of key players injured for both teams in this NFC Divisional matchup.
Fortunately for Eagles fans, Jalen Hurts is not listed on the Eagles injury report. The quarterback missed some playing time towards the end of the season with a shoulder injury sustained in Week 15. While not a total surprise, as head coach Nick Sirianni stated Hurts would be good to go for the playoffs, it does mark the first time Hurts has not been listed on the Eagles’ injury report since being sidelined.
The biggest blow for the Eagles is right tackle Lane Johnson. Johnson is expected to play through a significant groin injury but could spell trouble for Hurts if he’s forced to sit out this game. Johnson has been a key piece to the Eagles’ front line during their impressive season.
The Giants had a number of players listed as limited participants in early week practice, but each of them is expected to play this Saturday. Only one player, starting safety Jason Pinnock, is expected to miss this game. Pinnock suffered an abdominal injury in the Giants’ win over the Vikings in the Wild Card Round.
