As we race towards September, you have probably noticed a few trends when hitting casinos; it’s certainly an unprecedented summer in terms of how “busy” things are.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority recently released its June executive summary, highlighting trends in Vegas-area hotel occupancy since casinos reopened on June 4. The total occupancy rate, for the month of June, came in at 40.9% according to LVCVA.
Despite the reasonable dip in visitors due to the coronavirus, casino marketing departments continue their promotional push to get traffic through the doors during this unique time.
This pandemic summer sure seems to be flying by fast. This week’s “Inside the House” focuses on some gifts you can pick up during the last full month of summer.
August casino gift days
Boyd Gaming, Rampart and Station Casinos continue their monthly promotion of free giveaways.
Fans of wine might very well like this one. This Thursday, between 10 a.m. through 8 p.m., Boyd Gaming is giving away a set of two wine tumblers. On August 20, you can pick up a bottle of Hampton Water wine. If you need something to carry your wine tumblers and bottle, the month of giveaways ends with an Amy Miller tote bag on August 27.
The following venues are participating this month: Fremont Hotel & Casino, Cannery, California Hotel Casino, Sam’s Town, Suncoast, The Orleans, Aliante, and Gold Coast. Earn 20 tier credits with your B Connected card to make yourself eligible. From there, print your voucher at any kiosk before presenting it along with your identification card to the gift redemption area.
Station Casinos has two separate sets of giveaways this month. Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station and Santa Fe are handing out bamboo themed items for the house.
This Friday, you can pick up a four-piece bamboo snack set. If you find yourself in need of something to put your new snack set on, there’s a solution next week. A bamboo tray will be gifted on August 21. To wrap the month up, there will be a bamboo canister set available on August 28.
The next set of Station giveaways includes a fan favorite: alcohol. Boulder Station and Sunset Station are the participating properties. On Friday, you can pick up a 750ml bottle of Gambino Prosecco. The choice of either a 375ml bottle of Patrón Citrónge Lime or Mango is yours to make on August 21 (Margaritas, anyone?). To wrap up the month, you can pick up a bottle of Revel Stoke Whiskey and a flask.
For eligibility, earn 300 same-day base points. After that, present a valid boarding pass and identification card to claim your gift.
Speaking of alcohol, Rampart Casino is giving some away to Rampart Rewards Club members for their August promotion. August 17 gets you a bottle of Champagne; August 24 is a bottle of rum; August 31 closes the month out with a bottle of whisky. For eligibility, players must earn 1,000 base points from 3 a.m. through 7 p.m.
Rampart Rewards Club members who love spending their time at table games have a few ways to win this month. The first of which happens to be “Table Game Hot Seat Drawings.” You have a chance to win $200 in non-negotiable chips every Thursday for the rest of the month. The winning begins at 2:45 p.m., with drawings every hour until 7:45 p.m. For eligibility, the random winner must have an open rating while actively playing a table game.
You have a shot to win up to $2,000 in “Stacks & Cash Table Games Drawings,” each Friday and Saturday this month. Earn kiosk entries for each hour of play at a $10 average or equivalent on table games. Players earn 2x the entries Sunday through Friday. The drawings are held at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., with five winners each night. For eligibility you have to swipe-in at some point after 3 p.m., before the drawing starts.
This Week’s Big Winner: Last week’s “Inside the House” focused on bingo promotions, so it’s only fitting for this week’s winner to be a bingo jackpot. A player at Sam’s Town hit for nearly $37,000 on Aug. 5. Forty-eight numbers were called before a Las Vegas resident won off a $1 coverall strip during an 11 a.m. round.
