Good food, cold beer and lots of TV’s are always a winning combination. That’s what I found at Steiner’s pub, 8168 S. Las Vegas Blvd.

This is one of three locations across town as they have places at 8140 W. Cheyenne Ave. and 1750 N. Buffalo Dr.

When you walk in I love the way the bar area is set up. TV’s everywhere so no matter if you’re at the bar or a table you have plenty of choices as to which game or games to view.

Video poker players love sitting at the long bar and playing while watching all the action on the TV’s. There are plenty of bar seats and machines to keep the action going.

Steiner’s offers a wide selection of food items and has one of the best Happy Hours in town. If you are looking for a burger, you can’t go wrong with the choices.

Let’s start at the top with the Kobe Beef Burger. This is a big 1/2 lb. burger served with aged white cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato on a sweet sourdough bun. I love this burger. Another of my favorites is the Mirage Burger – piled high with sautéed onions, mushrooms, bacon and Swiss cheese.

If you want to spice things up check out Caesar’s Trojan Burger topped with roasted poblano chiles, sliced avocado, frizzled onions and cheddar cheese.

But my absolute favorite item on the menu is the Lamb Chop appetizer. You get four nice size lamb chops for $13.95. They are perfectly cooked and served with a horseradish dipping sauce. At $13.95 this is a bargain but if you go during Happy Hour from 3-6 p.m. you get them for just $9.

I can’t tell you how many times I have gone in during Happy Hour and ordered lamb chops and a shrimp cocktail. The Shrimp Cocktail contains five huge shrimp along with a very tasty cocktail sauce, and during Happy Hour it is just $6. To me, for $15 total it doesn’t get any better than that.

Being a sports bar you know I have had their wings and they get my stamp of approval. Their sauces run on the hot side so you might want to order one level lower than normal like I do.

What’s nice about Steiner’s is they have all the usual things you would expect at a sports bar along with a full menu of dinner entrée’s. They have steaks, ribs, salmon and pasta dishes just to name a few.

After a big night of partying on the Strip you can stop on your way home for breakfast. A full breakfast menu is served from 2 to 11 a.m. daily. With three locations around town chances are you’re not far from one.

So when it comes to a neighborhood bar, Steiner’s is the perfect spot with some 20 different beers on tap as well as a huge selection of bottled brands. The staff is friendly and very attentive. I give Steiner’s Pub a rating of 3.75 Forks out of 4.
