We ventured out for Monday Night Football last week with the boys as we like to hit different places to chill and watch football. This time we went to Elixir at 2920 N. Green Valley Parkway.
Elixir is different than your standard bar. Yes, they have a bar with TV’s all around it and video poker machines, but there’s another area that is more of a lounge atmosphere. In this area they have tables with big comfy leather chairs. There is a huge projection screen to watch the game along with some smaller TV’s. This is a really cool change of pace to your normal sports bar scene.
When the boys and I hang out for MNF you know there will be plenty of cold beverages and food consumed. Elixir has a great menu choice with all of your normal bar food favorites and so much more.
Among their football specials is Chips and Queso Dip for $5 as well as Foot-long Hot Dogs for that stadium feel. They also have six mini beef tacos for just $7. The best deal on the football menu is the appetizer platter for $14. They bring it out on a jumbo pan that has 4 deviled eggs, 2 chicken fingers, 4 chicken wings, chips & queso, onion rings and mash bites.
The mash bites are mashed potatoes rolled into a ball, and then they deep-fry them. These were very good and something different from the usual finger foods you find at a bar. During MNF they have giveaways that include hats and jerseys from the teams playing that night.
What makes Elixir different is not only does it have great bar food but also a full gourmet menu. They have appetizer items such as fried artichokes, cream cheese and bacon stuffed mushrooms, and a meatball trio. Some of the popular entrees on the menu are their blackened chicken sandwich, grilled salmon and chicken Parmesan with a side of pasta.
If you want to have a small private party you can also book the upstairs area, which is complete with TV’s to catch the game and hang out with a group of friends. With the holidays coming this would be a great place for family or a business holiday party.
The bar area has a pool table and a golden tee golf machine if you want to challenge your friends to a game. The Elixir also offers up local live music in the lounge area on certain nights, which makes for a nice evening with your special someone enjoying some of Elixir’s cocktails.
The food was excellent and the service was even better. I give Elixir a rating of 3.75 Forks.
