This Tuesday, Cantor Gaming is taking over the Hard Rock race and sports book, which will be a new great location.

If you are over that way, stop in and you will be able to partake of all the great stuff Cantor has to offer. Their entire crew at the Hard Rock is top notch, led by top guy Paul Bitters and new addition, Eric St Clair, who has decided to get back into the business after a short semi-retirement.

We all know Eric from our rollicking Excalibur days. Also at the “Rock” are two top supervisors – Dan “The Man” Garcia and Larry Weiss – in what amounts to a very strong staff for Cantor.

I am a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but the call in that game was one of the worst maybe in the history of the NFL, for sure, since they installed the review. It could only be one of two things, a Pitt TD or a fumble recovery in the end zone by the Dolphins.

Everyone in the book knew the correct call, but the officials blew it again. Both of my NFL picks won last week easy. We also had some good college football winners. Here we go again with a few real nice plays this week.

Thursday, Oct. 28

Florida St. -3½ at N.C. St.: This is a great spot for the Wolfpack as they had a little rest after losing two weeks ago at East Carolina. Look for a big time effort in front of the loyal Raleigh packed house. N.C. STATE.

Saturday, Oct. 30

Michigan St. +6 at Iowa: Must give credit to the Spartans for big comeback last week, which kept the BCS dream alive. It all comes to an end in Iowa City with Hawkeyes in angry mood after losing last week. Look for supreme effort. IOWA.

No. Illinois -9 at W. Mich.: The Huskies from DeKalb, Ill., are on a major roll as they have won and covered five straight since narrow loss at Illinois. Their only other loss was at Iowa State. No. ILL.

Auburn -7 at Miss.: The undefeated Auburn Tigers’ BCS dreams could go up in smoke at Oxford. Ole Miss gets back home after two tough road games with Alabama and Arkansas. The Rebel fans will be out in force. MISSISSIPPI.

Kansas +14½ at Iowa St.: The Jayhawks are not very good but do have a knack of beating Iowa State and catching them off huge win at Texas. Cyclones will be celebrating all week and just may take Kansas for granted. KANSAS.

Missouri +6½ at Nebraska: The Missouri Tigers will leave the ranks of the undefeated at Lincoln. Cornhuskers get the big win and the BCS picture becomes more muddled. NEBRASKA.

Duke +14½ at Navy: The Blue Devils get rare TV game and catch the Midshipmen off big win over Notre Dame. The points look real good. DUKE.

New Mexico +16 at Colo St: We have another Dirty Dozen team I need to back. The dog in this series has covered the last eight times. The Rams are beat up after getting crushed at Utah last week. NEW MEXICO.

Ohio St. -25 at Minnesota: The Buckeyes can name the score in this game. Can’t see them letting up on national TV. Big blow out. OHIO ST.

Oregon -7 at USC: There is a lot riding on this game not only for the Ducks but for the USC season. The Trojans were absolutely crushed last year in Eugene, 47-20. This one looks like it could be a wild and woolly one. USC/OVER.

Idaho +13 at Hawaii: If you are stuck, this will be the game to get even. The Warriors from Honolulu have really jelled since loss at Colorado. Look for them to continue their roll heading next week to play Boise on the blue carpet. HAWAII.

In the NFL, the Lions who have been playing some good ball catch the Skins in second of back-to-back road games; we like DETROIT -2.

The old man and the Vikings also get the worst of the scheduling as after their Sunday night loss at Green Bay, they travel to Foxborough to play the Pats. This just may be too much for the old man to handle. NEW ENGLAND -4½.

Play of The Week: This just looks too easy for me to take so I will need to bet against my beloved Steelers. They must play a very angry Saints team on Halloween night in New Orleans. Believe me, there will be a ton of voodoo in the stands. Pittsburgh has little or no shot in this game. Hook all your parlays and teasers up to the Saints off nasty loss to the Browns at home last week. NEW ORLEANS -1½.

Next week will be the BIG Breeders Cup seminar in the Palace Station race book, free food and cocktail service and a great time. The place will be jamming. It all starts at 6 p.m., so get there early to get a good seat because it is standing room only.

After the seminar, Hollywood Park will be running at 7 p.m. and you never know about that crazy Zack Goldberg. He just never gets any respect and may be giving some secret stuff away. Zack has told me he will have a top Breeders Cup selection of his own.
