Miami Needs One More Vintage Playoff Performance From Butler

It’s time we stop discounting the Heat because of their seeding and regular-season results in recent years. Miami has shown time and time again that you should never count it out come playoff time.

Jimmy Butler notched another do-it-all performance in Game 4, logging 27 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists to help his team take a commanding lead. If Devin Booker wasn’t putting up Michael Jordan-like numbers right now, then Butler would be receiving more adulation. Miami’s star guard has scored at least 25 in all eight playoff games this year.

Bam Adebayo turned in what may have been his best performance of the postseason in Game 4 by logging 23 points, 13 rebounds, and a victory. He’s gotten his team in position to make the Eastern Conference Finals for the third time in four years.

We’d normally call a No. 8 seed making it this far a Cinderella ride, but we’ve seen this before with the Heat. They’ll look to close out the Knicks on Wednesday.

New York Needs Non-Big-Three Players to Step Up

The Knicks failed to steal a game on the road and find themselves staring elimination right in the face. To make matters worse, losing both road games was entirely their fault. New York never led in Game 3 and then held the lead for a combined 33 seconds in Game 4.

With a chance to tie the series at two-all, the Knicks crumbled, giving up seven offensive rebounds to the Heat in the fourth quarter after allowing just six through the first three quarters.

New York cannot make a three-pointer to save its season. The Knicks are shooting just 28.2% from behind the arc, with RJ Barrett being the only player making at least 32% of them.

Already with their backs against the wall, the Knicks desperately need a player outside the Big Three to rack up some points. No role player totaled 10 or more points in Game 4. The bench went 0-for-5 of three-point shots and combined for just 10 points.

Immanuel Quickley is doubtful for Wednesday’s contest with an ankle sprain, leaving New York with even less to work with as they hope to avoid a second-round exit.

Heat vs. Knicks Game 5 Prediction

The Knicks can’t buy a bucket, whereas the Heat are getting contributions from all around the roster. The only game that Miami lost in the series was when Butler didn’t play, but he should be a full go Wednesday night and will give New York the work. Back the underdog for a sweet payout.
