The Poker Hall of Fame was founded in Las Vegas in 1979 by Benny Binion, owner of the Horseshoe Casino, to preserve the names and legacies of the world’s greatest poker players and to serve as a tourist attraction to his casino.

Currently, membership is handled by the WSOP. As of 2017, 54 people have been inducted into the Hall, 25 of whom are alive. To qualify, a non-player must have “contributed to the overall growth and success of the game of poker, with indelible positive and lasting results.”

If you haven’t heard of Robbie Strazynski or read some of his powerful poker writings and interviews, then it’s only a matter of time. Mark my words. This young man is incredible! Not only is he an excellent poker writer and expert on the computer, but he also presents videos for his audiences, and is fast becoming a media personality focused on the game of poker. Our poker world is so fortunate to have him on board.

Robbie lives in Israel – which has not yet legalized the game of poker. (There are so many poker players there, it’s probably only a matter of time.) Born in Los Angeles, he migrated to the State of Israel in 1998 at the age of 16. He is now 36 and has a beautiful wife and three kids (whom he adores). Because of his poker activities, he spends lots of time in the U.S., especially in Las Vegas.

In 2004, he graduated from Bar Ilan University in Israel, earning his BA and MA in English Linguistics. He started his career as an editor and copywriter, ultimately moving into the online gaming industry starting in 2010. A few months earlier, he had founded the Cardplayer Lifestyle poker blog, which he maintains independently to this day. He is also the co-creator of the Poker Notes Live mobile app and since June 2014 the co-host of the popular Top Pair Home Game Poker Podcast.

When he started Cardplayerlifestyle.com in 2009, he intended for it to be a part-time activity. Eventually, the site’s audience grew to a point where self-employment doing poker media work full time made sense. So, last March, Robbie decided to leave his position as the Head of Content Strategy for Webpals, whose parent company XLMedia is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange.

Upward of 10,000 people now visit Robbie’s site each month organically. (He has never paid to promote his site.) He started sending out a monthly newsletter 18 months ago and has since built a 1,000-person mailing list essentially from scratch.

Over the years, Robbie’s articles have been published in numerous poker media and gaming industry outlets, including All In Magazine, PokerUpdate.com, PokerStrategy.com, The Hendon Mob, Titanbet Poker, Casinoaffiliateprograms.com, and iGBAffiliate Magazine.

During his relatively short but fast-growing poker career, Robbie has been sought after and interviewed by some of our leading poker celebrities and media, including Two-Plus-Two Magazine (June 2017), Poker Central (June 2016), the PokerNews Podcast (January 2016), Nolan Dalla’s “Facing the Firing Squad” (June 2015), and Joey Ingram’s podcast (June 2015). Wow!

Not at all shy about getting involved with controversial topics, Robbie engaged in a memorable debate with Nolan Dalla that had the poker world buzzing about “politics in poker,” which appeared both in print and on video.

Recently, world-famed, living poker legend Doyle Brunson took a break from his high-stakes hold’em game at the Bellagio in Las Vegas to meet and chat with Robbie. They were introduced by Jan Fisher, co-founder of Card Player Cruises, and a member of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.

Known as “Texas Dolly,” Brunson is a long-time revered member of the Poker Hall of Fame.

In recognition of his outstanding and increasing contributions to our poker world, Robbie Strazynski is bound to become a Poker Hall-of-Fame member – sooner or later. We wish him the best.
