We have completed 5 weeks of the NFL season and this week’s stop on my 2019 Las Vegas Sports Bar World Tour brought me to Home Plate Bar & Grill, located at 2460 W. Warm Springs Road.

Home Plate has a bar and a separate dining area that is closed in so if you don’t want the sounds or smoke of the bar area you are good to go. The bar has TV’s located throughout so you will always be able to see the game you want to watch.

Now that we are set for watching the games, we need some food to munch on and Home Plate has an extensive menu to chose from. Let’s start with the traditional bar food items. The Wings are great and they have several different sauces to choose from. I have had the wings many times and they are always spot on. The fries are fresh cut and cooked to perfection. Football, Beer, Wings and Fries is always a winning play call.

Some of my favorite appetizers are the Bavarian Pretzel which is enormous and good. The Loaded Potato Skins are great for munching on during the game.

Home Plate has a large selection of sandwiches and burgers. Some of my favorite sandwiches on the menu are the Philly Cheesesteak, Cuban and the Steak Sandwich, which is an 8-ounce NY Strip on a hoagie roll with grilled onions and mushrooms. The sandwiches and burgers are all good size portions and priced very reasonably.

Home Plate also has a large selection of pizza and pastas. But my favorite dish on the entire menu is their Famous Filet Mignon Tips served with your choice of potato and vegetable all for just $16. The Tips are very tender and are served with a side of their Au Poivre sauce. I love dipping the Filet Tips and the French fries in the sauce. This is my go-to meal when I visit Home Plate.

If you haven’t filled up already and saved room for dessert they have several options to satisfy your sweet tooth. My favorites are the Fudge Bomb which is a fudge Brownie served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Another of my go-to desserts is the Grand Slam Cookie which is a warm giant chocolate chip cookie and two scoops of vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce.

Home Plate is a neighborhood bar located just off Las Vegas Boulevard, making it easy for locals and tourists alike to get to. With good food and great service, I give Home Plate Bar & Grill a Rating of 3.75 Forks.
