How many points do the Oklahoma City Thunder want to score tonight?

That’s a major betting question when the Charlotte Hornets visit one of the NBA’s top teams. The Hornets are 10-36, while the Thunder sit 33-15, one game behind the Western Conference-leading Minnesota Timberwolves.

Oklahoma City also carries the league’s fourth-highest scoring average of 120.4.

Here’s a look at our Hornets vs Thunder odds, picks, and predictions at the top sports betting apps.

Hornets vs Thunder Odds: Spread, Moneyline, Total

Dog bettors will be tempted to take a swipe at Charlotte +16.5 (Best Live Odds: ). That’s the largest number of points the Hornets have been given all year.

Charlotte notched its last victory as a 14-point road dog, toppling the Minnesota Timberwolves 128-125 on Jan. 22. But they had LaMelo Ball, who is now injured, playing in that game.

The Hornets have lost five straight, while the Thunder gained a split against the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves, two of the NBA’s elite teams, this week.

The total of 230 (Best Live Odds: ) carries no inherent edge. Team averages of 120.4 for Oklahoma City and 108.6 for Charlotte come out to 229.

Oklahoma City is one of the league’s most prolific offenses. Besides scoring a lot of points, it has a 50.1 field-goal percentage, second only to the Indiana Pacers.

Oklahoma City is also among the leaders with 8.2 steals and 6.5 blocks per game. This sets up a nice transition offense.

It could be a prop bettors’ delight in this game. Some Hornets player props are becoming strong considerations for bettors, regardless of how the team performs.

Hornets vs Thunder Betting Trends

Charlotte

This has been a good week for Brandon Miller. He tallied 29 points in the Hornets’ 113-92 setback to the New York Knicks on Monday and 21 in the 117-110 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.

Miller has topped 20 points in six of the last eight games, averaging 20.5 points, 4.5 boards, 2.8 assists, and 2.6 threes over that stretch.

PJ Washington also stepped up with 16 points against the Knicks and 26 versus the Bulls.

Miles Bridges notched 21 points against the Knicks and 30 versus the Bulls.

Bettors don’t care that the Hornets are 10-36 moneyline.

What they do care about is that the trade of top player Terry Rozier and injuries to Ball have opened the door for other scoring threats.

If Ball sits again with an injury, these players are likely to get their points. And gamblers on the right side of the trend can cash it out.

Oklahoma City

The Thunder are 18-6 at home. They played Tuesday and Thursday nights, notching a 105-100 home victory over the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets after losing 107-101 to the Timberwolves.

After two high-intensity games versus the NBA elite, they host a bottom team. Can the Thunder keep their foot on the pedal?

There is one big name bettors will circle to assess their best value: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Thunder guard is the third-leading NBA scorer with 31.3 points per game. He only trails Joel Embiid and Luka Doncic.

Gilgeous-Alexander has tallied more than 30 points in eight consecutive games and he showed up against the top teams. He notched 34 points against the Nuggets and 37 against the Timberwolves.

He should have plenty of looks in this game and has an excellent chance to surpass 30 points again.
