Race 3 — #5 Surfactant – Was the only first time starter in this 32k maiden claimer, a play that I was made to notice by fellow horse player “Ping Pong Dave” who knows his handicapping. Surfactant ran huge at almost 7/1 but had no shot at the even money chalk but finished second more than six lengths clear of the rest of the nine horses behind him. The $2 exacta paid $33.40, this is another play to keep in your mind and also put Surfactant on your HTW list.
Race 6 –#1 Bay Rush – First-time starter was entered looking for a grass race but it was moved from that surface. He was let go at almost 23-1 and really ran well despite having no shot at the runaway lone speed odds on winner. This guy can flat out run and will be very hard to beat next time out especially if he finds a straight maiden race on the grass.
